593313.exe is an unidentified Windows executable filename, not a recognized Windows component. No authoritative Microsoft or software-vendor page assigns that exact name to a legitimate product or a known malware family. That absence does not prove the file is safe: the real risk depends on its full path, digital signature, hash, source, launcher and behavior. Until those checks agree, do not open it, choose “Run anyway,” disable SmartScreen or antivirus, or create an exclusion. If Microsoft Defender has quarantined it, leave it blocked while you investigate.
What is 593313.exe?
The name identifies a Windows Portable Executable file, but it does not identify the program that created it. A filename can be chosen by legitimate software, an installer, a temporary process or malware. Searches for the exact string have not found an authoritative Microsoft or vendor assignment, a published hash or a file-specific malware-family attribution. That is an evidence gap, not a clean bill of health.

As cybersecurity analyst Brendan Smith of Gridinsoft puts it, “A familiar filename is only a label: a legitimate Windows or vendor process and a malicious copy can use the same name.” Treat the individual file, rather than the text of its name, as the object you must evaluate.
Is 593313.exe safe?
There is no filename-only answer. A copy with a valid signature from the publisher you expected, stored in that publisher’s installation folder and launched by its application, is less suspicious than an unsigned copy in a user-writable folder. Even a valid signature supports provenance but does not guarantee harmless behavior; an unsigned file is not automatically malware either.

- Do not double-click the file or select Run anyway.
- Do not turn off SmartScreen, Microsoft Defender or another security product to make it run.
- Do not add an antivirus exclusion for the file or its folder.
- Keep a detection quarantined until its origin and startup references make sense.
Location is a clue, not proof. A copy in Downloads, %TEMP%, %APPDATA%, a browser cache or another user-writable directory deserves extra scrutiny because software can write there without administrative installation.
How should you investigate 593313.exe without executing it?
Work from least invasive evidence to more disruptive cleanup. Preserve what you find before deleting or quarantining anything so that you can explain the event to a technician or recover a legitimate application.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
1. Preserve the context
- Write down the complete path, filename, date and time it appeared, the exact Windows Security alert or popup text, and whether the file was downloaded, running or mentioned by a sign-in error.
- Record the browser, game launcher, installer, email attachment or other source that may have delivered it. If a message or download page is involved, save its details without opening the executable.
- Take screenshots of the alert and any startup entry. Do not rename the file before recording its original name and path.
2. Inspect a running process
If the error refers to a process that is currently active, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager. On the Details tab, locate the process, right-click it and choose Open file location. Record the parent application, command line and CPU, memory and disk use shown in Task Manager. Opening the folder from Task Manager does not execute the file; double-clicking the file would.
If no process is present, use File Explorer to reach the recorded path. Keep the file closed while you inspect its Properties and security status.
3. Verify the digital signature
- Right-click the file and select Properties.
- Open Digital Signatures, select a signature and choose Details.
- Confirm that Windows reports the signature as valid and that the signer matches the publisher you expected from the software or driver that supposedly installed it.
A missing signature is a reason for caution, not automatic proof of malware. A valid signature can become untrusted if a certificate is revoked or if a signed program behaves unexpectedly, so compare the signer, installation path and launch context as a group.
4. Calculate a hash for repeatable identification
A cryptographic hash lets you identify this exact copy even if someone changes its filename. In PowerShell, run the following command with the recorded path:

Get-FileHash -Path 'C:fullpath593313.exe' -Algorithm SHA256
Save the resulting SHA-256 value with your notes. No authoritative hash for 593313.exe has been published in the available evidence, so the hash cannot produce a filename-only verdict. It is still useful when a security professional, software publisher or incident-response service gives you a known-good or known-bad value to compare.
5. Scan the file in Windows Security
- Right-click the file in File Explorer and choose Scan with Microsoft Defender or Scan with Microsoft Defender Antivirus, depending on your Windows build.
- Allow the scan to finish and save the detection name, action and time from Windows Security’s protection history.
- If Defender detects the file, leave it quarantined while you examine the startup reference and source. A clean result lowers risk but does not prove that the file is safe, because no scanner detects every new or altered program.
6. Check what launches it
If the message appears when you sign in, the file may be referenced by a startup command even though the executable has been deleted or quarantined. In Task Manager, open Startup apps, select an unfamiliar entry and choose Disable for a reversible test. Also inspect Settings → Apps → Startup on current Windows versions.
For deeper checks, review the following locations and record the command before changing it:
- Registry Run keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRunandHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun. - Startup folders opened with
shell:startupandshell:common startupfrom the Run dialog. - Task Scheduler Library entries, especially tasks whose action points to the recorded path or a random-looking name.
- Services whose executable path references the file.
- Browser extensions or helper applications installed at the same time.
Disable an unfamiliar entry first and reboot to test. Export a registry key or note a task’s settings before deleting it; removing the wrong entry can stop a legitimate application from starting.
Why does Windows keep showing a 593313.exe error?
The most common explanation is a broken startup reference: Windows, a game launcher or another application still tries to start a file that was deleted, quarantined or moved. Other possibilities include an incomplete uninstall, a damaged application installation, a temporary file that was never meant to persist, or malware that created a random filename and a persistence entry.

Microsoft’s description of Win32/Kexqoud documents malware copying itself into %APPDATA% under a random filename and adding a HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun value. That behavior explains why random names and startup evidence deserve attention; it does not identify 593313.exe as Kexqoud.
Fix a missing-file popup after a legitimate uninstall
- Use Settings → Apps → Installed apps (or Apps & features on older Windows) to find the program that was installed or removed when the popup began.
- Choose its repair or modify option if available. If the program is no longer needed, uninstall it normally and restart.
- Disable the orphaned startup entry identified in the previous section. Do not download a replacement executable from an unfamiliar website merely to silence the message.
Fix a startup reference with no known owner
Keep the entry disabled while you scan and investigate. If the alert returns after reboot, look for a second task, service or Run value that launches the same path. Repeated detections, changes to security settings or attempts to disable Defender are signs that the problem is broader than one missing file.
What should you do if 593313.exe already ran?
Assume the computer may be exposed until scans and account checks show otherwise. Do not continue using email, banking, work, game or cryptocurrency accounts on the suspect machine while you investigate.
- Disconnect the computer from the internet if you see active suspicious behavior, while keeping it powered on long enough to preserve notes and alerts. Avoid deleting files before recording their paths and times.
- Run a full Microsoft Defender scan. Reboot when it completes and scan again if the process or startup entry returns.
- Review installed applications, Task Manager startup entries, scheduled tasks, services, browser extensions, proxy settings, DNS settings and remote-access tools for changes you did not make.
- From a separate, clean device, change passwords for accounts that may have been used on the computer and revoke existing sessions. Prioritize email first because it can reset other accounts; enable multifactor authentication where available.
- If detections persist, security software is tampered with, or you cannot explain new administrator accounts and remote-control software, obtain professional incident-response help. A clean Windows reinstall may be justified when trust in the installation cannot be restored.
Do not restore a quarantined executable simply because a program stopped working. First identify the publisher, path and reason it was detected; reinstall the legitimate application from its official source instead.
How do you remove 593313.exe from startup safely?
Removal should target the launcher, not just the file. Deleting the executable while leaving a Run value or scheduled task produces repeated errors and can hide the persistence mechanism.
- Capture the exact command, file path and owner shown by Task Manager, Startup apps, Registry, Task Scheduler or Services.
- Disable the corresponding startup item or task and restart. Confirm whether the popup or detection returns.
- If the entry belongs to a program you recognize, repair or uninstall that program through Windows Settings. If it is unknown, leave it disabled while you complete scans.
- After scans are clean and you have preserved the evidence, delete the orphaned shortcut, task or Run value. In Registry Editor, export the relevant key first; delete only the value that points to 593313.exe.
- Empty the Recycle Bin only after you are confident the file is not needed for analysis and no legitimate installer still references it.
Never replace the file with a similarly named download. A replacement from an unverified source can create a second risk while concealing the original cause.

Can Microsoft Safety Scanner help?
Microsoft Safety Scanner is a portable, manually triggered malware-removal tool that can provide a second local check. Download a fresh copy before each scan: Microsoft says the downloaded tool expires after 10 days.
- Obtain the current Safety Scanner release from Microsoft and choose the version matching your Windows system.
- Run the tool, accept its terms and select a scan type. A full scan takes longer but examines more of the system than a quick scan.
- Review the on-screen result and then inspect
%SYSTEMROOT%debugmsert.logfor detailed findings. - Remove or quarantine anything it identifies according to the result, then restart and check whether the 593313.exe startup reference returns.
Safety Scanner supplements a real-time antivirus product; it does not replace one. Keep Microsoft Defender or another reputable real-time product enabled after the manual scan.
Which remediation route fits your situation?
Choose the least disruptive route that still answers the security question. A file that never ran requires a different response from one associated with account use or security-tool tampering.
| Route | When it fits | Evidence preservation | Detection and quarantine | Persistence inspection | Reversible? | Clean-device password reset | What it repairs |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Document, scan and disable startup | File is blocked or has not executed | Strong if you record path, alert, hash and command first | Windows Security scan and quarantine | Run keys, Startup folders, tasks and services can be reviewed | Mostly; disable rather than delete first | Usually not unless credentials were entered after execution | Removes the launch trigger; does not repair every application |
| Full scan plus Safety Scanner | Detection is uncertain or the file may have run | Moderate; save logs before cleanup | Two local scanning layers, with Safety Scanner manually run | Requires a separate startup and task review | Quarantine actions may be reversible; deletion may not be | Consider if the process ran while accounts were used | Finds or removes some malware; does not rebuild damaged Windows components |
| Professional response or clean reinstall | Repeated detections, tampered security tools or unexplained account changes | Best if you preserve logs and disk evidence before reinstalling | Can include offline or specialist analysis | Comprehensive, but a reinstall erases local persistence evidence | Reinstall is disruptive and not readily reversible | Yes, from a clean device | Restores a trusted Windows installation rather than merely deleting one file |
How can you reduce the chance of another random executable running?
Keep real-time antivirus protection enabled, install Windows and application updates through their normal channels, and avoid running unknown attachments or “fix” downloads. Application-control policies provide a stronger allow-list approach for supported editions and managed environments. Microsoft describes the goal this way: “Application control changes Windows from a place where all code runs unless your AV solution confidently predicts it’s bad, to one where code runs only if your policy says so.” Microsoft also notes that application control works alongside antivirus rather than replacing it.
For a home gaming PC, the practical baseline is to use a standard user account for daily play, install launchers and mods only from sources you trust, keep browser extensions minimal, and review new startup entries after installing software. Make regular backups that are disconnected from the PC when not in use so a serious compromise does not encrypt every copy.
As an optional shortcut after the manual checks, Outbyte PC Repair can attempt to fix more than 100 common Windows issues where possible, show an app-crash log, clean temporary and cache files, and check Windows settings, missing updates and potentially unwanted applications. It runs on Windows 11, 10, 8 and 7; its free trial is available by category for at least two days before a paid subscription. It complements antivirus protection, results vary, and no tool repairs every crash.
Frequently asked questions

Does a valid certificate prove that the program is harmless?
No. A certificate indicates that Windows can associate the file with a signer at verification time, but a signed program can still be vulnerable, unwanted or compromised after signing. Judge the signer together with the path, expected installation and observed behavior.

Will System Restore remove the problem?
It may roll back a startup entry or recently installed program, but it is not a malware-removal guarantee and can leave user files untouched. Use it only after preserving evidence and completing scans; a returning detection means you need deeper persistence checks rather than another restore point.
Can I keep playing offline while I investigate?
Offline play reduces network exposure but does not make an untrusted executable safe, especially if it has already run. Avoid signing into accounts or using removable drives on the suspect installation until scans, startup checks and password protections are complete.
