In FarmVille 2: Country Escape player discussions, “cloning” is informal shorthand for an alleged way of duplicating an in-game item during a Farm Co-Op purchase. It is not a feature Zynga documents. It is a term players use for a reported exploit, and the publisher’s terms prohibit exploits used for unfair advantage.
Where the term comes from
The clearest description of the practice comes from a Reddit comment. The commenter describes two co-op members buying the same offered item at the same moment, which the commenter presents as producing an extra copy. The account is a single anecdote. No publisher statement, patch note, or independent test confirms that the method works, and it should not be treated as a dependable way to gain items. Players also use the phrase “the cloning method for items” and ask how others “cheat the game” in FarmVille 2, so the term circulates mainly in community forums rather than in official game material.

Co-op trading versus the reported duplication
Farm Co-Ops are a supported part of the game. Zynga’s official pages describe them as a place to trade and share, and its support index lists guides on using co-ops and co-op chat. The reported cloning behavior sits outside that feature. The two are easy to confuse because both involve other players and items changing hands, so the table below separates them.

| Aspect | Co-op trading and sharing | Reported cloning |
|---|---|---|
| Where it is described | Zynga’s official Farm Co-Op pages and support index | A Reddit comment and player discussion |
| Official status | Documented feature | Not defined by Zynga; no official confirmation found in the sources reviewed |
| Intended result | Items are shared or traded between co-op members | An alleged extra copy of an item after simultaneous purchases |
| Verification | Documented by the publisher | Anecdotal only; not independently verified |
| Rules position | Normal play under the terms | Would fall under the general ban on exploits for unfair advantage |
What the terms say
Take-Two’s Terms of Service, last updated February 28, 2025, state: “You will not use exploits or illegal or unauthorized means.” The terms prohibit exploits used to gain an unfair gameplay advantage or to access virtual items without a valid entitlement. They list possible consequences such as resetting progress, suspending access, or terminating access.

The terms do not name the reported cloning method. A player who used a duplication exploit would be covered by the general rule, but the terms do not say which action, if any, a particular account would receive.
What is not established
- An official definition. No publisher source defines “cloning” in FarmVille 2: Country Escape.
- Prevalence. No figures on how many players have tried the method or how often it occurs were found in the sources reviewed.
- Current functionality. Nothing reviewed shows whether the interaction still works on the current version of the game.
- Regional differences. The sources reviewed do not describe whether the behavior varies by region or platform.
How to read the term
When you see “cloning” in a forum thread, read it as a player’s claim about an exploit. The co-op trading that Zynga documents is a supported feature, and the reported duplication is not. Everything involved concerns virtual items within the game, so no outside purchase or product is relevant to the question.
