It is a filename reused by unrelated programs, including the legitimate Accruent EMS Desktop Client, so its safety depends on the exact file path, publisher, digital signature, hash, parent process and installation history. One catalog lists 42 different EMS.exe instances, while a 2023 sandbox analysis found malicious activity in one particular sample; neither fact classifies every file named ems.exe. Check in File Explorer
- Right-click

Use application repair, not blind deletion, when the path and publisher match an EMS deployment you need.
