Endgame is a replayable co-op PvE mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, set in Avalon after the campaign’s opening 11 Co-op Campaign missions. Players deploy with Operators and loadouts, take on assignments and other activities, build Combat Rating, and decide when to extract. Exfil is pivotal: the launch guide says a successful extraction preserves your current loadout and Combat Rating.
What is Endgame in Black Ops 7?
Endgame continues the JSOC story in Avalon, the setting introduced in the game’s campaign. Its premise is to explore the map, investigate Guild command centers and toxin exposure zones, and survive as combat becomes more dangerous. It is a repeatable activity rather than one of the campaign’s linear missions. Call of Duty’s launch guide describes the mode, while the Black Ops 7 reveal establishes its campaign context.

How does an Endgame deployment work?
- Choose an Operator and prepare. Select your loadout, abilities, and equipment before deploying. Since Season 03, loadouts have been specific to each Operator, according to Activision’s March 2026 update.
- Deploy into Avalon. Use the wingsuit to descend, then move around the map on foot or by vehicle.
- Take on activities and build power. Complete assignments, gather intel, and defeat enemies to raise Combat Rating and gain skills. You can pursue objectives with your squad or tackle separate activities from other squads sharing the deployment.
- Choose when to extract. Reach an exfil point before the match timer expires. Leaving earlier secures the progress described in the launch guide; staying longer means facing tougher encounters in pursuit of further rewards.
The launch guide describes matches with up to 32 players overall and squads of up to four. Those are launch-era figures; check current in-game information for live rules.
Why does exfil matter?
Exfil is the mode’s risk-and-reward decision. A successful extraction preserves your current loadout and Combat Rating, as the official guide puts it: “A successful exfil lets you keep your current Loadout and Combat Rating.” If you are equipped to continue, you can risk a deeper push for more activities and rewards; if not, extraction protects what you have earned during that run. The guide says players must reach an exfil point before the timer runs out.

How do Combat Rating and progression work?
Combat Rating rises through objectives, intel, and enemy defeats. Its levels offer choices of skills or skill tracks, letting you shape an Operator around a preferred role. The launch guide lists a maximum Combat Rating of 60; because that is a launch-era cap, it should not be assumed to describe the current live version.

- Gunner: weapon-focused combat.
- Surgeon: healing and revives.
- Daredevil: mobility and movement.
- Tactician: equipment utility.
- Berserker: aggressive combat.
Consider your team’s needs and how much risk you are willing to take in more dangerous areas. The official materials do not establish a best track for every player or situation.
What can you bring, and how do loadouts work?
At launch, an Endgame loadout included a main weapon, a melee weapon, a Field Acquisition, and Field Equipment, along with one Major Ability and one Minor Ability. Field Acquisitions are weapons found in an earlier Endgame match and retained by successfully exfiling. Workbenches in Avalon can improve weapon rarity and damage. The guide’s ability examples span defensive tools, movement, healing and support, and offensive powers.

Season 03 added several Operator-specific progression options. Players could save a Scorestreak or Self Revive for a later deployment by exfiling with it. They could also reset an Operator’s Combat Rating while keeping that Operator’s loadout, weapons, equipment, and rarity, but losing Exotic and Nightmare skills. Resetting a fully progressed skill track lowered Combat Rating by 16. These are details of the March 2026 update, not a guarantee that every rule remains unchanged in later updates.
What rewards carry over from Endgame?
The launch guide says Endgame runs contribute XP, Weapon Levels, Weapon Camos, and Battle Pass progress. It also described Endgame-specific camos for the 30 launch weapons. Activision Support separately states that weapons can level in Co-op Campaign as in other modes; see its Black Ops 7 progression information. Challenges and rewards can change with live updates, so consult the current game for what is available now.

Do you have to finish the campaign to unlock Endgame?
At launch, the official guide said players unlocked Endgame by completing the first 11 Co-op Campaign missions. That was the original access route. In March 2026, Activision announced limited-time free-to-play access through the Call of Duty menu and Warzone; the offer excluded the Co-op Campaign. The announcement did not specify an end date, and its materials do not establish whether the offer is still active on October 8, 2026. Check the current Call of Duty or Warzone availability notice rather than assuming either that the offer remains live or that campaign completion is still required.
