How to fix 0x87e107df on Xbox
1. Check Xbox service status
Visit xbox.com/xbox-live-status. If a relevant service is unavailable, wait. Repeatedly restarting the console, reinstalling a game, buying a subscription, or performing a factory reset will not repair Microsoft’s backend services.

After checking the status, try launching the game once more. If the service appears operational, use the normal restart option:
- Press the Xbox button.
- Open Profile & system.
- Select Power.
- Choose Restart console.
Menu labels can vary with console software, language, and region. If the Xbox is unresponsive, hold its physical power button for about 10 seconds until it turns off. Disconnect the power cable for roughly 60 seconds, reconnect it, and start the console.
This can clear a stuck local session or authentication state. It is not a cure for an active Xbox outage.
3. Test the network connection
On Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, the typical path is:

If the test reports a problem:
- Run the multiplayer connection test if available.
- Check the NAT status shown in Network settings.
- Restart the router and modem.
- Try a wired connection.

Changing DNS can be useful when the diagnostics point to name-resolution or connection trouble, but it should not be a primary response to a widespread licensing outage. 4. Confirm the account and entitlement
For a digital purchase, make sure:
- You are signed in with the Microsoft account that bought the game, or with an account that legitimately receives its shared entitlement.
- The account is not signed out, suspended, or otherwise unable to authenticate.
- A Game Pass title is still included with your active plan.
- The console is online if it is not the account’s designated Home Xbox.
Do not buy Game Pass as a troubleshooting step. A new subscription cannot repair an Xbox-side entitlement outage, and it is irrelevant to a game you already own physically or digitally.
For a disc-based game, insert the correct disc and check that the console recognizes it. Inspect or clean the disc if recognition is inconsistent. A disc can establish the ownership signal, but the game may still need updates or online services to launch or function fully.
5. Remove and add the profile again
If Xbox services are operational and the issue appears limited to one profile, refreshing the local account data may help:
- Open Settings → Account → Remove accounts.
- Remove the affected profile.
- Restart the console.
- Add the Microsoft account again.
- Try launching the game.
Before removing the profile, confirm that you know the account email address, password, and required two-step verification method. Cloud-saved progress should normally synchronize after you sign in again, but unsynchronized local saves can be at risk. If you are unsure whether recent saves have uploaded, do not remove the account until you have considered that risk.
6. Review Home Xbox only when the symptom points to sharing
Home Xbox settings matter when household members use shared purchases or subscriptions, when the console was replaced, or when the account’s Home Xbox designation has been changed repeatedly. Review the console-sharing or personalization settings for the account owner.

Changing Home Xbox is not a universal fix for 0x87e107df. It can affect who shares purchases and subscriptions, so do not change it repeatedly while Xbox services are experiencing an outage.
7. Reset the console while keeping games and apps
Use a reset only after the Xbox status page is normal and the earlier steps have failed. The typical path is:
Settings → System → Console info → Reset console → Reset and keep my games & apps
This option refreshes the operating system while leaving installed games and apps in place. It still removes accounts and settings, so you will need to sign in again. Unsynchronized local data may be at risk, and a reset cannot fix an ongoing Microsoft service outage.
A full reset that removes everything should not be the default recommendation for this code.

Use the official Xbox Support hub if the status page is normal but the error persists, especially when purchases or subscriptions are missing, sign-in fails after re-adding the profile, or the issue began after an account change or console update.

All digital games fail
Prioritize Xbox status, account authentication, and licensing. Do not begin by reinstalling every game. If all titles start working after Microsoft resolves an incident, the console and games were not the underlying problem.
Only one game fails
Check whether the title is updating, whether its own servers are unavailable, whether the signed-in account owns it, and whether it is installed on a disconnected external drive. Check for a pending update and restart the game. A game-specific installation or service problem is more likely than a platform-wide outage.

A Game Pass game fails
Confirm that the account has the correct active Game Pass plan and that the title remains included. Game Pass access can require online entitlement checks, so offline mode is not guaranteed to work.
A disc game works differently
Insert the correct disc and confirm that the console detects it. Disc ownership does not guarantee that online multiplayer, cloud features, updates, or an online-only game will function during a service interruption.
Offline mode is suggested
Offline play may help only when the console was previously designated as the account’s Home Xbox, the game supports offline play, the entitlement is locally available, and no online authentication or subscription check is required. It will not reliably bypass a missing entitlement or make a Game Pass title playable after access has ended.
Several accounts or consoles are affected
If several accounts on one console—or the same account on several consoles—show the error, suspect Xbox services or a broader authentication issue before suspecting individual game installations. If another account works on the same console, focus on the affected profile and its entitlement.
What not to do
- Do not factory-reset during a confirmed outage. It cannot restore unavailable licensing services.
- Do not reinstall every game first. Multiple simultaneous launch failures point away from individual installations.
- Do not buy Game Pass because of the code. A purchase cannot fix a server-side incident.
- Do not assume the router is defective just because a service or license check failed.
- Do not repeatedly change Home Xbox. It can create sharing and entitlement confusion.
- Do not treat DNS changes or alternate-MAC clearing as guaranteed fixes. Use them only when ordinary network diagnostics justify further network troubleshooting.
When the status page says everything is operational
“Operational” does not conclusively rule out a newly developing incident, regional service problem, account-specific authentication failure, stale local profile, or game-specific outage. Compare the behavior of another game, another account, or another network connection.
If only one profile fails, re-add that profile after confirming you can sign in. If only one game fails, investigate the title and its installation. If all games fail for an extended period while other Xbox users are unaffected, contact Xbox Support rather than repeatedly resetting the console.
