nwjc.exe is usually a component of Delta Electronics’ NovoConnect Desktop Streamer, not a Windows system file. The documented sample is a 4.9 MB Win32 executable normally installed at C:Program Filesnovodesktop streamernwjsnwjc.exe. It is listed as signed and verified by Delta Electronics, Inc., and one archived scan recorded zero detections. That supports a “likely legitimate” assessment only when your copy belongs to a genuine NovoConnect installation. NovoConnect release notes describe failures to launch, screen mirroring and playback problems, unreliable Novo Directory discovery, Windows 10/11 screen-extension-driver MSI installation issues and crashes in specific releases. Those failure classes point to software version, driver, network or compatibility problems; they do not by themselves show that nwjc.exe is malware.

The archived record says the signing certificate was issued through DigiCert and had a validity end date of 2017-12-06. Because that date is old, check the signature on your current file in Windows rather than relying on the archived listing. Windows may show a signature as invalid, expired or otherwise untrusted even when the file was originally signed.
How can I check where nwjc.exe is running from?
Task Manager can reveal whether the process belongs to NovoConnect or is being launched from an unrelated location.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager. If the compact view appears, select More details.
- Look for nwjc.exe in the Processes or Details tab. Right-click it and choose Open file location.
- Compare the folder with the expected NovoConnect path. A location under
%TEMP%, Downloads, a random AppData subfolder, a system directory or a removable drive is not the documented installation location. - Note the full path before closing the window. If several copies exist, record each path; a legitimate installation and a suspicious same-named copy can coexist.
If Task Manager closes the process before you can inspect it, search for nwjc.exe in File Explorer and check each result. Do not run a file merely because its name looks familiar.

How do I verify the digital signature?
Use the file’s Properties dialog to see whether Windows can validate the publisher, then inspect the certificate details rather than trusting the filename.

- Open the Digital Signatures tab. Select the signature and choose Details.
- Confirm that the signer is Delta Electronics, Inc. and read Windows’ signature status. Open View Certificate to inspect the issuer, dates and trust chain.
- If the tab is absent, the signer differs, or Windows reports that the signature is invalid, do not assume the file is genuine. Continue with a security scan and reinstall from the official NovoConnect distribution channel if you need the software.
An old certificate date in an archived database does not establish the status of a current installer. Conversely, a valid signature is evidence of publisher identity, not a guarantee that the program is harmless or that it is the right version for your Windows build.
How do I calculate the SHA-256 hash?
Hashing provides a precise build comparison. It is most useful when your file is intended to be the same release as the archived 4.9 MB sample; a different result can simply mean that NovoConnect has been updated.
- Open File Explorer, hold Shift, right-click the file and choose Copy as path.

Close the presentation cleanly
Save any active presentation, disconnect from the NovoConnect session and exit Desktop Streamer. In Task Manager, end only the NovoConnect-related process if it remains stuck. Reboot before reinstalling so that a locked file or pending Windows update does not interfere.
Repair by reinstalling the complete package
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps (Windows 11) or Settings > Apps > Apps & features (Windows 10).
- Find NovoConnect Desktop Streamer, select its menu and choose Uninstall. Follow the vendor’s removal prompts.
- Restart Windows.
- Download and install the supported NovoConnect Desktop Streamer package from Delta/NovoConnect’s official distribution channel. Do not use a third-party “missing DLL” site or a detached
nwjc.exe. - After installation, check the new executable’s path and signature again, then test a presentation.
Release notes list dated builds through 2024-06-04, but they do not establish which installer is newest in October 2026 or whether every build supports your exact Windows update. Use the release notes and the vendor’s current download page to select a compatible package.
What if the error mentions screen extension or an MSI driver?
NovoConnect release notes specifically document Windows 10/11 screen-extension-driver MSI installation problems. If mirroring or projection fails while the application itself opens, treat the extension component as a separate troubleshooting target.
- Run Windows Update and restart, including any restart requested after a cumulative update.
- Uninstall the existing NovoConnect Desktop Streamer package, restart, and install the current supported package with an administrator account if the installer requests elevation.
- Read the installer message carefully. An MSI failure may indicate a blocked installation, a pending reboot, an incompatible release or a damaged previous component.

Discovery failures are usually network or release-compatibility issues, not evidence that nwjc.exe is malicious. NovoConnect’s manual requires the computer and NovoConnect device to be connected for presentation, and release notes mention fixes for unreliable Novo Directory discovery.

- Confirm that the PC is connected to the intended network and that the NovoConnect device is powered on and connected to the same presentation network.
- Temporarily disconnect from an unused VPN or secondary network adapter if your organization’s policy allows it; multiple interfaces can make discovery appear on the wrong network.
- Check Windows Firewall notifications and allow the signed NovoConnect application when prompted. Do not create broad inbound rules for an unverified executable.
- Restart the NovoConnect device and Desktop Streamer, then try discovery again.
- Check the release-note history for your installed version. If discovery problems began after an update, compare the current supported release and follow Delta’s documented upgrade or rollback guidance.
The older B360 manual describes up to 64 concurrent participants. That is historical capacity for that presentation environment, not a guarantee for every newer NovoConnect model, network or software release.
What should I do if Windows Defender flags nwjc.exe?
Do not dismiss a warning solely because the filename is associated with NovoConnect. Verify the path and signature, then use an appropriate Microsoft Defender scan mode.

Can I delete nwjc.exe?
