printscreen.exe is usually the executable for Gadwin PrintScreen, a third-party Windows utility that captures the whole screen, the active window, or a selected area. It can save captures in several image formats or send them to a printer. It is generally not a Windows component required for startup or booting.
The filename alone does not prove that a copy is safe. Verify its complete path, publisher, digital signature, and whether Gadwin PrintScreen is installed on your PC. A process name is only an identifier. Malicious software can copy a familiar name, so treat “printscreen.exe” as a starting point for verification, not as a safety certificate.
Is printscreen.exe safe?

Why is printscreen.exe running at startup?

3. Remove conflicts with other screenshot tools
Two utilities can compete for the same screenshot hotkey or intercept the same print-screen event. Temporarily disable or exit other screenshot programs, restart Windows, and test Gadwin again. If the error disappears, assign a different hotkey or keep only the utility you actually use.

Review the result before deleting anything
