RegOffice64.exe is documented as a small component installed with Ai Squared’s ZoomText 10.1 and ZoomText 11 screen-magnifier software. Compare the complete path
Open the location from the alert or process that references the file. A path under the installed ZoomText 10.1 or ZoomText 11 folder, particularly ahoix64, is consistent with the documented component. A copy in Downloads, a user-profile temporary folder, AppDataRoaming, a random directory at the root of the drive, or an unrelated system folder needs investigation before execution. Malware can copy a familiar filename into a different directory.

How do I find which copy Windows is trying to run?
- When the error is shown by a running process, open Task Manager with
Ctrl+Shift+Esc. - On the Details tab, look for
RegOffice64.exe. Right-click it and select Open file location. If the process has already closed, use the path shown in the error dialog or search the drive for the exact filename. - Copy the full path into a note before deleting, moving, or repairing anything.

1. Restart, then install updates

2. Test the application in Safe Mode
Use the appropriate command from the Run dialog (Win+R):
winword /safefor Wordexcel /safefor Excelpowerpnt /safefor PowerPoint
If the application opens in Safe Mode, choose File > Options > Add-ins. At the bottom, set Manage to COM Add-ins, select Go, clear one add-in, restart normally, and test. Repeat one change at a time until the conflicting add-in is identified. Do not disable every add-in permanently without documenting which one caused the failure.

3. Run Office Quick Repair, then Online Repair
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps (or Programs and Features).

- Run Quick Repair, restart if prompted, and test the Office application.
- If Quick Repair does not help, repeat the process and choose Online Repair. This requires an internet connection and replaces more of the Office installation.
Repair can reset custom settings and may require Office activation again. Save open documents and record any non-default add-in settings first.
4. Use Microsoft’s uninstall and reinstall workflow
If Office still fails after Online Repair, use Microsoft’s official uninstall/reinstall procedure for your edition instead of copying an individual executable. A complete removal can clear damaged registration data that a normal repair leaves behind. Reinstall Office first, then reinstall or repair ZoomText if the integration error remains.
What should I do after switching between 32-bit and 64-bit Office?
A migration between Office architectures can leave registry entries that refer to the removed architecture. Can I delete regoffice64.exe?
