Is tc-games.exe safe?

Why can a legitimate-looking tc-games.exe still be dangerous?
Trojans often use the same filenames as real applications. An unexpected download, a repacked installer or a file dropped by another program can imitate TC Games while having no connection to its publisher. Microsoft advises obtaining software from trusted sources and keeping security protection current. How do I check tc-games.exe without launching it?
Use this sequence on the file that is actually running or being reported. Do not double-click an unexpected copy while investigating.
- Find the complete path. In Task Manager, right-click the process and choose Open file location. If it is not running, search File Explorer for
tc-games.exeand note every copy. A file namedTC Games.exeis the same naming variant for this purpose. - Record basic properties. How do I run a full scan or Microsoft Defender Offline?
Full scan
- Open Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection, then Scan options.
- Choose Full scan and select Scan now. A full scan checks files and running programs across the PC and can take considerably longer than a quick scan.
Offline scan
- Save documents and close applications. The offline scan restarts the computer.
- Go to Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Scan options.
- Select Microsoft Defender Antivirus (offline scan), then Scan now.
- Windows restarts into the Windows Recovery Environment and scans before the usual desktop loads. Review Protection history after Windows starts again.
Offline scanning is useful when a process hides during a normal session or recreates itself after deletion. It is not a substitute for identifying the download source and removing an unwanted application.
How do I remove tc-games.exe safely?
If you do not want TC Games, uninstall the associated application instead of deleting a single executable first. Deleting only tc-games.exe can leave its updater, startup entry, drivers or other files behind and may produce new errors.

The program will not start or immediately closes
- Restart Windows and try launching the installed copy from its normal Start-menu entry, not an old shortcut or a downloaded duplicate.
- Right-click the shortcut, choose Properties and inspect the Target path. It should point to the installation you verified.
- Right-click the executable, choose Properties > Compatibility, and avoid enabling compatibility settings unless a known older Windows requirement calls for them.
- Check Windows Security > Protection history for a blocked component. Do not create an antivirus exclusion simply to make the program start; an exclusion stops Defender checking the selected file or folder.
