terrariaserver.exe is normally TerrariaServer.exe, the Windows dedicated-server program bundled with Terraria. Why is TerrariaServer.exe running on my PC?
The process is running because somebody, a shortcut, or a batch file started a dedicated server. TerrariaServer.exe can remain active after the graphical game closes because the server is a separate console program.
- You launched the executable from the Terraria folder and selected a world at the prompts.
- You ran

Scan the exact executable with Microsoft Defender
- Use File Explorer to navigate to the suspected
TerrariaServer.exe. - Right-click the file and choose Scan with Microsoft Defender.
- Wait for the scan to finish, then open Windows Security to review the result and any available action.

How do I fix a “TerrariaServer.exe is missing” error?
