For general endgame solo play in Tower Defense Simulator (TDS), a practical default is Farm, Commander, Accelerator, Engineer, and Ranger. It is not a universal best: the right five towers depend on the mode, your unlocks, early-wave survival, enemy coverage, and the map. If you are still progressing or do not have Accelerator and Engineer, start with Ranger, Farm, Commander, Minigunner, and Cowboy instead.
What is the best loadout for solo in TDS?
TDS Hub’s guide, updated for game version 2.4.0, recommends Farm, Commander, Accelerator, Engineer, and Ranger for general endgame solo play. Treat this as a starting lineup rather than a proven winner: the available sources do not establish controlled comparisons showing that one loadout beats every alternative. TDS Hub’s solo guide provides the recommendation.

| Situation | Suggested towers | Why it can fit |
|---|---|---|
| General endgame solo | Farm, Commander, Accelerator, Engineer, Ranger | Farm supports expensive upgrades; Commander provides team buffs; Accelerator and Engineer supply damage; Ranger adds long-range coverage. Recommendation from TDS Hub. |
| Earlier progression or missing gem towers | Ranger, Farm, Commander, Minigunner, Cowboy | A more accessible lineup suggested by TDS Hub. Ranger needs a suitable cliff placement and does not directly detect Hidden enemies. |
| Farm feels too costly as a solo slot | Consider Cowboy or Golden Cowboy instead of Farm | The official wiki notes these towers can combine offense and income, which may help when playing alone. Choose based on early-wave survival and mode. |
| Solo Fallen | Start with a Fallen-specific build, then adapt for your towers | Prioritize coverage, control, and damage. TDS Hub’s Fallen tower pool includes Farm, Commander, Accelerator, Gatling Gun, Ranger, Freezer, and Necromancer; the exact five depend on access and strategy. |
How to choose your five towers
Balance income with early defense
Farm can fund expensive towers, but an economy slot does not defend the opening waves. The Official Tower Defense Simulator Wiki’s strategy guidance says balancing economy and defense is difficult alone and recommends cheap early defense. Cowboy or Golden Cowboy may be more effective than Farm alone in some solo strategies because they contribute both offense and income; that does not make them the right choice for every mode or opening.

Pair Accelerator with other damage
Accelerator has high upgrade costs, a charge-up, cooldown, and lock-on behavior. The official wiki’s Accelerator guide explains why relying on it alone can leave other enemies untreated. Support it with other damage towers, useful placements, and enough economy to reach its upgrades.

Check map and enemy coverage
Ranger has very long range but can only be placed on cliffs, so the map needs a usable cliff position. It also does not directly detect Hidden enemies. Before committing to a Ranger-based lineup, make sure the rest of your towers and strategy cover threats it cannot handle. Consider other enemy types, including flying enemies, when assessing the whole five-tower setup.
How mode and progression change the recommendation
General solo endgame
Use the Farm, Commander, Accelerator, Engineer, and Ranger lineup as a default if you have the towers and can support their costs. In the version 2.4.0 guide, TDS Hub lists Accelerator at 2,500 Gems and Level 50, and Engineer at 4,500 Gems and Level 50. It lists Farm at 2,000 Coins, Commander at 4,000 Coins, and Ranger at 12,000 Coins. These prices and unlock conditions can change; confirm them in-game before planning around them.

Earlier progression
If you lack Accelerator or Engineer, TDS Hub suggests Ranger, Farm, Commander, Minigunner, and Cowboy as a more accessible solo option. This still depends on having Ranger unlocked and a useful cliff position. If early waves are the problem, reassess whether your income tower is leaving you short on immediate defense.

Use mode-specific guidance rather than assuming the general endgame list is optimal for Fallen. TDS Hub’s Fallen guide emphasizes a mix of long-range, burst, and economy roles, with crowd control useful against fast enemies. Its guide reports a full-wave-clear bonus of 40% in solo, compared with 20% in duo, trio, or quad; that is a figure reported by TDS Hub, not an independently verified game-data table. Check TDS Hub’s Fallen guide for its mode-specific build.

Players disagree about whether solo Fallen is better served by keeping Farm or replacing it—or another support slot—with additional damage or control. That debate is anecdotal, not settled comparative evidence. Make the choice according to the specific run’s economy needs, available towers, and enemy coverage.
