Premium Edition adds the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack for GTA Online; Enhanced and Legacy are PC version labels; and PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions offer current-generation upgrades. These distinctions are not interchangeable.
Quick comparison: which GTA V difference matters to you?
| Label or option | What it describes | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Premium Edition | A content bundle | Includes the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack, with benefits usable in GTA Online. It is not a separate Story Mode campaign. (Rockstar Support) |
| PC Enhanced / Legacy | PC version labels | Rockstar uses both labels in its support and update materials, but those materials do not establish a complete feature-by-feature comparison. (Rockstar update notes) |
| PS5 / Xbox Series X|S versions | Console-generation versions | Rockstar advertises visual and loading upgrades, including graphics modes with up to 4K resolution and up to 60 frames per second. (Rockstar Store) |
| Standalone GTA Online | A purchase configuration | Rockstar lists GTA Online separately and says a Story Mode upgrade is available in-game. Availability and terms depend on the platform and current store listing. (Rockstar Store) |
What does GTA V Premium Edition include?
Rockstar Support confirms that the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack is included in Grand Theft Auto V: Premium Edition. The pack provides GTA Online benefits: GTA$1,000,000, properties and businesses, ten vehicles, weapons, clothing, and tattoos. Rockstar says the content is only accessible in GTA Online, so it does not add a new Story Mode campaign or function as paid Story Mode DLC.

The support page says a copy of GTAV for PS4, Xbox One, or PC Legacy is required to play the pack. To receive its benefits in GTAV Enhanced, players must first access them on a Legacy character and then migrate that character to Enhanced. Verify the platform and exact contents of the listing you are considering; the support page does not guarantee that every regional or retailer SKU is identical.

Enhanced and Legacy are distinct PC version labels used in Rockstar’s official support and update materials. The cited update notes list PC Enhanced and Legacy as separate update targets, alongside console platforms. That confirms Rockstar’s terminology, but does not provide a complete comparison of graphics, features, system requirements, ownership, or upgrade eligibility.

Do not assume that owning Legacy automatically grants every Enhanced feature or entitlement. Check the current Rockstar or platform-store listing for your account, hardware, and upgrade path before buying or moving a character.
What changes on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S?
Rockstar describes the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions as having upgraded fidelity and performance, faster loading, and graphics modes offering up to 4K resolution and up to 60 frames per second, plus HDR options, ray tracing, improved texture quality, and more. “Up to” describes the maximum advertised modes, not a guarantee that every display, setting, or gameplay scene will run at those figures.

How to choose the right listing
- If you want Story Mode and GTA Online together: look for a GTAV listing that explicitly includes both modes.
- If you only want GTA Online: check whether the standalone option is currently offered for your platform, and review the in-game Story Mode upgrade terms if you may want the campaign later.
- If you want the Starter Pack benefits: confirm that the listing is Premium Edition and that its platform and pack contents match your needs. The benefits are for GTA Online.
- If you are buying for PC: identify whether the listing or your installed game is Enhanced or Legacy, then verify requirements and transfer or upgrade terms rather than inferring them from the version name.
- If you are moving from an older console: check the one-time migration eligibility and destination platform before relying on a transfer.
