The report said a separate special final episode was still expected at that time, so it described this as the last main video—not necessarily the channel’s final upload.
What was Sakurai’s last main video about?
The Outerhaven’s October 15, 2024 report characterized the installment as a return to Sakurai’s advice about management and workplace treatment. In the reporter’s summary, directors and producers should guide and support the people doing the work rather than treat them as lesser or mistreat them. The broader point is that making a game takes a team working together.

That is the article’s account of the video, not a verified transcript or a direct quotation from Sakurai. The report used the phrase “Up is Down and Down is Up” to describe the outlook, but the available source does not establish that phrase as Sakurai’s verbatim wording.
Was it the final video on the channel?
Not necessarily. The Outerhaven called the October 15 installment the last “main video” and said a special final episode would follow. That was the status reported on that date; it does not establish whether the special episode has since been released. The channel is titled Masahiro Sakurai on Creating Games, but the accessible channel page does not supply episode-specific details to resolve the later status.

What is—and isn’t—confirmed about the message?
The available account supports a concise takeaway about Sakurai’s management philosophy as the reporter presented it: people leading a game project should help the team do its work, not rely on status to justify mistreatment. It does not provide a direct Sakurai quote, a transcript, or statistics. Readers looking for his exact words should consult the video itself rather than treat the report’s paraphrase as a quotation.
