What does “noob” mean in PUBG?
“Noob” is a casual, sometimes dismissive word players use for someone who is new or still learning. PUBG does not make it an official rank, and being inexperienced now says nothing permanent about your ability. Treat it as slang, not a measure of your worth as a player.
A recent community post captures a common beginner frustration: one player said medium-range recoil control felt impossible and asked whether Vertical Sens Multiplier might help. That is one player’s experience, not evidence of a universal sensitivity fix. The useful takeaway is to practice recoil and test settings for yourself rather than assume one value works for everyone.
What should you learn first in PUBG?
Learn the survival loop before focusing on kills: land, find a usable weapon and supplies, watch the Blue Zone, move toward safety, and engage opponents when you have a reasonable opportunity. Where can you practice as a beginner?
Complete Basic Training
KRAFTON’s Update 42.2 patch notes describe a refreshed Basic Training made up of 17 chapters. It guides new players through controls, landing, finding and using weapons, the Blue Zone, throwables, armor, healing, communication, reviving a teammate, retrieving a Blue Chip, driving, and recalling a teammate. The developer says the progression takes “about 10 minutes” to complete; that is an estimate, not a guaranteed time. The notes also describe a partner NPC that offers situational voice guidance and Radio Messages. Use Training Mode for focused practice
PUBG’s official overview directs beginners to Training Mode, called Camp Jackal on that page, to practice weapons, equipment, parachuting, driving, and other skills. Use it to work on the part of a match that is giving you trouble, such as aiming, recoil control, or handling a particular weapon. How to improve without changing everything at once
- Get comfortable with the controls. Learn movement, aiming, weapon switching, and the actions you need to loot and heal. Bindings vary by platform and configuration, so verify yours in the current settings.
- Pick one problem to work on. For example, focus on keeping your aim steady at medium range rather than trying to fix aim, movement, looting, and positioning in one session.
- Practice in the training environment. Try available weapons and equipment at a pace that lets you notice what is happening. If recoil is the issue, repeat the same kind of practice before judging a change.
- Change one setting at a time. If you test Vertical Sens Multiplier or another sensitivity setting, compare how it feels for you rather than treating a community suggestion as a rule. Keep or undo the change based on your own practice.
- Apply the skill in a match. Focus on using what you practiced while also tracking the zone and choosing when to move or fight. Match situations differ from a practice environment, so improvement may take repeated attempts.
Which PUBG mode should a beginner choose?
Solo, Duo, and Squad offer different team contexts; none is established as universally easiest. Solo means making decisions independently. Duo and Squad involve teammates, which can give you opportunities to communicate and practice team actions such as reviving, but depend on the people you play with. A patient friend or cooperative squad may suit someone who wants that practice; solo may suit someone who prefers independent decisions.

How do PUBG controls differ by platform?
Controls depend on platform, configuration, and updates. PUBG Support’s keyboard-and-mouse guide, updated August 3, 2020, lists W/A/S/D for movement, C to crouch, Z to go prone, Shift to sprint, Q/E to lean, right-click to aim, and the mouse wheel or number keys to switch weapons. Use that as a dated PC reference, not as a current or universal control map; confirm bindings in your own settings. These PC controls do not apply to console or PUBG Mobile. What progress should a new player expect?
There is no sourced sensitivity setting, accessory, or shortcut that guarantees better results. Training features give you a place to learn mechanics, but applying them in matches takes practice and judgment. Focus on understanding what went wrong in a specific situation, then work on that skill rather than treating “noob” as a fixed identity.
