AKEE is A.K.E.E., a fictional plant in Plants vs. Zombies 2. Its name stands for “Autonomous Katapulting Ejectomatic Emitter,” and it attacks by lobbing seed projectiles that bounce from zombie to zombie. In the international version, the Plants vs. Zombies Wiki lists its unlock as beating Lost City – Day 6.
What A.K.E.E. is
A.K.E.E. is a character plant in the game, not a real-world species. Players searching “AKEE” are almost always looking for this plant. The spelling without periods is common in search, while the game styles the name as A.K.E.E.
How it attacks
A.K.E.E. fires lobbed projectiles that do not stop at the first hit. According to the Plants vs. Zombies Wiki, its projectile has three bounces, carrying damage from one zombie to the next. The wiki attributes the in-game description to Penny, who is quoted as saying: “A.K.E.E lobs projectiles that bounce from zombie to zombie.” Its value comes from target coverage: a single shot can damage several zombies in a cluster, which is why it suits crowded lanes better than a single-target shooter.

If a figure you see in a guide or video differs, check the game’s own in-plant details first, since the game is patched over time.
How to unlock it
In the international version, the wiki lists A.K.E.E. as the second plant obtained in Lost City, unlocked by beating Lost City – Day 6. The same reference notes that acquisition details differ for the Chinese version, so if you play a regional release, confirm your unlock path against that version’s own listings before planning around it.

Searches for “AKEE” also return the ackee fruit, a real food plant with seeds that have nothing to do with the game. If you are looking for the Plants vs. Zombies character, the game reference linked below is the right source; the fruit is not related.
