Yes—but only in selected games. The PS5 supports compatible USB and Bluetooth keyboards and mice at the system level, while each game decides whether those devices work for movement, aiming, camera control, menus, chat, or nothing beyond text entry. The most dependable full-gameplay choices include Fortnite, recent Call of Duty games, Final Fantasy XIV Online, and War Thunder.
This is a carefully categorized compatibility guide, not an official Sony master list. Support can change with patches, and a PS4 game running on PS5 may behave differently from its native PS5 edition.

How PS5 keyboard-and-mouse support works
Connecting a keyboard or mouse successfully does not make every PS5 game accept it. There are four separate questions:

- Does the PS5 recognize the device? This confirms system-level compatibility only.
- Does the game recognize it? Look for a Controls, Input, or Keyboard and Mouse menu.
- Does it work during gameplay? Chat or menu support is not the same as movement, aiming, camera, building, or combat support.
- Does it work in the version and mode you want? A PS4 app running on PS5, a native PS5 app, and an online mode may have different behavior.

The entries below are the strongest choices in the available evidence. “Full” does not mean every menu, prompt, shortcut, or mode is identical to the PC version.

PS4 games playable on PS5 with reported keyboard-and-mouse support
Backward compatibility does not add keyboard-and-mouse support automatically. These games are listed as PS4-compatible in HORI’s documentation or are otherwise strong candidates, but the exact app version and current patch matter.

- Roblox: behavior can vary by individual experience and control implementation.
- Deep Rock Galactic: reported support exists, but the exact current feature set needs confirmation.
- DayZ: reported keyboard-and-mouse behavior may coexist with controller-oriented interface elements.
- Paladins: support may depend on mode or input settings.
- The Elder Scrolls Online: keyboard support is safer to describe as chat or social support unless current gameplay support is confirmed.
- DC Universe Online: keyboard input may help with chat and interface functions; do not assume full gameplay support.
- Mount & Blade: Warband: reports are inconsistent and may not reproduce the PC control scheme.
These distinctions matter because a game can accept text input while rejecting mouse aiming and keyboard movement. A controller prompt on screen is also not conclusive by itself: some games accept external input while retaining incomplete controller-oriented prompts.
Games not confirmed for native keyboard-and-mouse gameplay
Do not count the following as confirmed native keyboard-and-mouse games merely because the PS5 recognizes your devices:
Apex Legends, Valorant, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, Overwatch 2, Battlefield 2042, Genshin Impact, Risk of Rain 2, Slime Rancher, DC Universe Online, DayZ, Iron Harvest, and TERA.

HORI’s compatibility document marks these as incompatible with its Tactical Assault Commander keyboard device. That is evidence about that accessory and test, not proof that every peripheral and every later game build will behave identically. The accurate conclusion is: no confirmed native gameplay support should be assumed without current game-specific documentation.

How to connect a keyboard and mouse to PS5
Wired USB setup
- Plug the keyboard and mouse into the PS5’s USB ports.
- Open Settings → Accessories.
- Check the keyboard options, including language, key-repeat delay, and key-repeat rate.
- Check the mouse options, including left- or right-handed mode and pointer speed.
- Launch the game and open its Controls, Input, or Keyboard and Mouse menu.
- If the game does not respond, close it and relaunch it with the devices already connected.
Bluetooth setup
- Put the keyboard or mouse into pairing mode.
- On PS5, open Settings → Accessories → General → Bluetooth Accessories.
- Select the device from the discovered-device list.
- If it does not reconnect, open the registered accessories list and select Connect.
A device appearing in the Bluetooth list does not prove that it is fully compatible with PS5 or with a particular game. For troubleshooting, a standard wired USB keyboard and mouse are the simplest baseline.

- Check the PS5: confirm that the device is recognized under Settings → Accessories.
- Check the game: look for keyboard-and-mouse settings in its Controls or Input menu.
- Test movement and camera: chat entry alone is not enough.
- Use a tutorial, training area, or offline mode: test movement, aiming, interaction, inventory, and menus safely.
- Test the intended online mode: some games restrict input switching or handle matchmaking differently.
Common problems and fixes
The PS5 sees the device, but the game does not
- Confirm that the game supports gameplay input rather than chat only.
- Check its Controls or Input menu.
- Quit and relaunch the game with the devices connected.
- Try a basic wired device to rule out wireless compatibility.
- Confirm whether you launched the PS4 or PS5 version.
- Install the latest game update, then retest.
The keyboard works but the mouse does not
This usually indicates partial support, text-entry support, or a title that accepts keyboard input without mouse gameplay. Do not classify it as full compatibility.
The mouse works in menus but not during combat
Classify the game as partial or menu-only unless its core gameplay also responds.

Wireless fails while wired works
Use the wired setup or a wireless device with a USB receiver. Bluetooth discovery and pairing are not proof that the accessory is supported in-game.

Support disappeared after an update
Live-service games can change input behavior through patches, seasonal updates, or platform-policy changes. Recheck the game’s input menu and record the date and version when confirming support.
Native support versus keyboard-and-mouse adapters
This guide lists native game support. Adapters that translate mouse and keyboard movements into controller signals are different: they do not create true mouse input.
Adapters can introduce controller dead zones, aim acceleration, input delay, altered aim assist, and control mismatches. Competitive games may also restrict or detect adapter use. If you use one, treat it as a separate workaround—not evidence that the game natively supports keyboard and mouse.

- Prefer a basic wired USB setup for diagnosis.
- Choose devices that work without PC-only drivers or configuration software.
- A simple 2.4 GHz wireless device with a USB receiver may be easier than Bluetooth in some setups.
- Check the exact PS4 or PS5 app version.
- For online shooters, review the game’s current input and matchmaking rules.
- Do not assume a console-focused keyboard accessory creates support in an otherwise unsupported game.
The HORI Tactical Assault Commander is one example of a console-focused accessory with a published compatibility document, but that document is dated October 28, 2022 and warns that updates can change results. It is useful corroboration, not a universal certification.
