The clip shown during NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang’s CES 2025 keynote was an early, pre-development look at SEGA’s then-untitled New VIRTUA FIGHTER Project—not a finished gameplay reveal. SEGA has since announced the project’s official title, VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS, with a planned 2027 launch. “Virtua Fighter 6” remains a familiar shorthand, but it is not the announced title.
What appeared during NVIDIA’s CES 2025 keynote?
IGN’s January 7, 2025 video upload identifies the clip as a pre-development look at SEGA’s new Virtua Fighter project, presented during NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang’s keynote at CES. It showed an early concept for the project, rather than a finished game or a confirmed representation of its final combat system. IGN’s CES clip
The NVIDIA connection at CES was the keynote setting. NVIDIA announced its GeForce RTX 50 Series desktop and laptop GPUs at the same event, powered by its Blackwell AI chip, but that broader announcement does not establish what hardware rendered the Virtua Fighter clip or what hardware the game will require. Was the CES clip gameplay?
No: it should be described as pre-development concept footage, not gameplay footage. SEGA later distinguished the early material from its August 4, 2025 EVO presentation, which the company called the latest gameplay footage and the first look at the next Virtua Fighter’s combat system. What is the project called now?
SEGA announced VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS as the official title of the New Virtua Fighter Project on June 8, 2026. SEGA describes it as the next mainline entry in the series. The title “Virtua Fighter 6” helps identify the project in casual conversation, but it is not the official name SEGA announced. SEGA’s June 2026 announcement
What has SEGA announced about the game?
SEGA describes VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS as a fighting adventure developed by RGG Studio. Its announced design combines a story mode with one-on-one battle mode, with online and offline play. These are company-announced features, not details established by hands-on play.

What was the later NVIDIA connection?
In a separate July 21, 2026 event report, SEGA said VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS was shown on an NVIDIA RTX Spark laptop and announced plans to bring the game and other classic SEGA titles to RTX Spark. That later announcement is distinct from the CES 2025 clip; it does not identify the setup that rendered the earlier footage or establish a consumer GPU requirement. SEGA’s July 2026 event report
SEGA reported that about 100 Virtua Fighter fans and players attended the July 2026 Akihabara event. That figure refers to that event, not CES attendance, sales, or demand for the game. The report also quoted Huang reflecting on the companies’ history: “Without Sega’s support, NVIDIA would not have been able to achieve what we are announcing today.” It was a comment at the July 2026 event, not about the CES footage.
