Sony Interactive Entertainment filed a US trademark application for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet on February 12, 2024. The title was later confirmed as Naughty Dog’s next game, in development for PS5. The studio’s latest update, dated September 28, 2026, says it will stay quiet about the game for the rest of 2026 and plans a full reveal in 2027.
What the US trademark filing says
The available reproduced application record identifies Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC as the applicant, gives the filing serial number as 98402097, and lists February 12, 2024, as the application date. Its descriptions cover broad categories including game software, downloadable media, books, comics, music, and entertainment services. The reproduced application record is a source for what was filed, not proof that every listed category became a product or is planned for release.

The application’s current official USPTO status has not been established here. The third-party record includes status information dated 2024, which should not be treated as the application’s status on October 8, 2026.
How the title became a confirmed game
When Gematsu reported the filing, Sony had not announced a project under the name. That uncertainty ended on December 12, 2024, when Naughty Dog identified Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet as its next game and said it was in development for PlayStation 5. Gematsu’s contemporary report covers the filing-era context; Naughty Dog’s announcement confirms the game.

What Naughty Dog has announced about the game
The official premise follows Jordan A. Mun, a bounty hunter stranded on Sempiria, a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe went dark centuries ago. Tati Gabrielle plays Jordan. Naughty Dog also announced Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross as scoring collaborators. The announcement’s reference to “over 600 years” belongs to the fictional story, not to a real-world statistic. Naughty Dog’s December 2024 announcement provides these details.
When will Intergalactic be revealed or released?
In a September 28, 2026 update, studio head Neil Druckmann said Naughty Dog would be quiet about the game for the remainder of 2026, then fully reveal it in 2027: “In 2027, that changes. We’ll fully reveal Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet and give you a proper look at Jordan’s wild sci-fi adventure.” The studio update gives the current reveal plan.
The cited official announcements do not provide a release date or say the game is available to buy. A planned 2027 reveal is not a confirmed 2027 launch.
