If you want another Japanese horror game after BrokenLore: MIKI-CHAN, choose Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water for supernatural exploration and ghost encounters, Silent Hill f for another current release with a Japanese setting, or Silent Hill 2 as a psychological-horror comparison. If you would rather stay with the same series, try BrokenLore: DON’T LIE or DON’T WATCH. These games share broad horror appeal, but the available official descriptions do not establish that they play like MIKI-CHAN.

What makes BrokenLore: MIKI-CHAN distinctive?

BrokenLore: MIKI-CHAN is a first-person psychological horror game about Kazuaki, a Japanese student preparing for an entrance exam and hoping to win over the girl he loves. He tries a study-support program featuring the virtual assistant Miki-chan; jealousy and possessiveness turn the experience into a nightmare, according to the official Steam listing. Its premise puts an unsettling relationship with a digital assistant at the center of the horror.

That is a useful starting point for choosing a follow-up, but not a guarantee of matching mechanics. The official descriptions available for the other games establish settings, broad genres, or signature features—not that they share MIKI-CHAN’s first-person perspective or its particular kind of threat.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water: for ghost encounters and exploration

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is the clearest choice if you want Japanese supernatural horror built around exploring a location and confronting spirits. The game takes place on Mt. Hikami and follows three protagonists through separate missions. Its defining tool is the Camera Obscura, which players use to repel and capture hostile spirits, as described on Koei Tecmo’s Steam listing.

That makes it a more specific recommendation than simply choosing another game labeled psychological horror: its official description points to a concrete way of engaging with threats. Choose it for spirit encounters and the Camera Obscura, not because the evidence establishes that it reproduces MIKI-CHAN’s first-person format or virtual-assistant premise.

Silent Hill f and Silent Hill 2: two different reasons to look at the series

Silent Hill f

If a Japanese setting matters most, Silent Hill f is the current Silent Hill option to consider. Konami’s official Silent Hill portal listed it as released when checked on October 7, 2026, and provides platform information. That portal supports its release status and platforms, but not a more detailed comparison of its story or mechanics with MIKI-CHAN. Check the game’s own official product information for details relevant to your region.
