PC Gamer reports that loose ammunition can be purchased in stacks of 100 and consumes two inventory slots. You then use it to refill magazines from the inventory screen. That is different from assuming that every weapon leaves spawn fully supplied for a long engagement.
The same coverage recommends leaving spawn with two extra magazines, three to five bandages, a dot sight, and a class gadget. Treat those as a practical starting recommendation, not a universal required build: the right amount depends on the role you choose and what you can afford. The important lesson is to inspect your inventory before driving toward the objective rather than discovering an ammunition or healing shortage in combat.
Downed states and revives
The tutorial introduces the timing of the downed state and the revive process. Those seconds create a decision for both players: a downed teammate must communicate and judge whether help is realistic, while a living teammate must decide whether a revive is safe or whether moving away protects the squad and the objective.

Entering a live match without seeing that timing can produce two costly mistakes. You may abandon a revive that was still possible, or you may expose yourself to a second enemy while attempting one that was already unsafe. Practice the interaction before relying on it under pressure.

The game centers on a capture circle called the Control Zone. Coverage also describes a Hot Zone in which the value of occupied bodies increases. That means the fight is not only about reaching a marked circle; it is about understanding where players should stand, how a team creates pressure, and why the value of staying alive or recovering a teammate changes inside the contested area.
The tutorial gives you a chance to associate the names with the on-screen objective flow. Without that introduction, a new player can mistake a staging area for the scoring area, arrive without supplies, or leave a useful position because the immediate firefight appears quiet.
Buildings, FOBs, defenses, and supplies
WARDOGS layers construction and logistics over the king-of-the-hill fight. The tutorial covers building and FOB work, while broader game coverage describes defenses, supply movement, and strategic locations. Rebuy can encourage the wrong habit
GamesRadar+ reported that rebuy remained available but was moved to a less prominent button after testers repeatedly reused losing kits. The practical warning is simple: do not automatically buy the same equipment after a failed life. First ask whether the weapon, protection, ammunition, route, or role was the problem. Repeating a losing setup can drain your resources while teaching you nothing.
Your first purchase affects your first contribution
A kit is not only a personal preference. It determines whether you can sustain a push, support a revive, spot an approach, drive a vehicle, or help with construction and supplies. If you skip the tutorial, spend a moment in the inventory and purchase screens learning what each item does before committing money in a live match.
Movement, transport, and team roles you may overlook
PC Gamer describes the drive from spawn to the zone as about 3 km and roughly four to five minutes, depending on the car. Transport helicopters can be faster. Those figures are reported coverage, not a promise that every route, vehicle, or build will produce the same time.

A player who skips the tutorial may focus only on shooting and miss the value of getting a squad to the fight efficiently.
- Driver: gets teammates to the zone, chooses a route, and keeps the vehicle usable for the return trip.
- Logistics player: supports supply movement and the construction or maintenance work that lets a team keep operating.
- Spotter: contributes information and helps the team choose safer approaches, even without leading every engagement.
- Direct fighter: contests the circle, but still depends on ammunition, healing, transport, and recoverable teammates.
These roles are meaningful ways to help a team. A skipped tutorial does not remove them; it removes the explanation that makes their value obvious.
How to leave the tutorial early

- Start the WARDOGS tutorial and allow the session to load fully.
- Press Esc to open the pause menu.
- Remain on that menu for roughly 15 seconds. Do not assume the option is immediately available.
- When Leave Match becomes active, select it.
- Confirm that you want to leave.
- At the main menu, check that Deploy is available before attempting to join a populated server.
The reported timing is approximate. If Leave Match remains greyed out, wait a little longer on the pause menu rather than repeatedly pressing a disabled control. If the option never activates, treat that as a build or account-state difference and finish the tutorial or use Learn to Play instead.

The activation delay has not elapsed
The most common explanation in current reports is that the control is intentionally unavailable for a short period after entering the tutorial. Keep the pause menu open for about 15 seconds, then check again.
Your build behaves differently
The workaround is based on Early Access community observation, not a documented promise that every release will use the same control state. A patch can alter the delay, rename the action, move it to another menu, or remove the behavior entirely.
Your account or session state differs
Reports do not establish that every account receives the same result. If the option stays disabled after waiting, restart the tutorial once and test again; if it still does not appear, use the supported path of completing the onboarding sequence and verify Deploy afterward.
You are checking the wrong outcome
Leaving the match is not the final test. Return to the menu and look specifically for Deploy. If Deploy is unavailable, the session did not leave you in a usable state, regardless of whether the menu closed successfully.

Will skipping reset progress or remove rewards?
The available reports do not establish every consequence for tutorial completion flags, achievements, onboarding rewards, or other account records. They also do not prove that leaving early permanently resets progression. Because those outcomes are not documented in the evidence available here, do not assume either result.

If a completion flag, introductory reward, or achievement matters to you, finish the tutorial. That is the only conservative choice when the account consequence is more important than saving a few minutes.
What to learn before your first populated match
If you use the Leave Match workaround, replace the missing guided run with a deliberate checklist. Complete these items in Learn to Play or another low-risk environment.
- Open the purchase and inventory screens; identify how weapons, ammunition, protection, bandages, sights, and class gadgets are selected.
- Buy a small kit, inspect its cost, and understand how rebuy works before spending the rest of your funds.
- Purchase loose ammunition in the reported 100-round stack format and refill magazines from the inventory screen.
- Carry the practical baseline reported by PC Gamer—two extra magazines, three to five bandages, a dot sight, and a class gadget—unless your role or budget makes a different choice sensible.
- Trigger and observe the downed state; practice the revive interaction and learn how much time you have.
- Identify the Control Zone and Hot Zone on the interface, and watch how the objective changes when players occupy it.
- Enter a vehicle, understand the driver controls, and plan for the roughly 3 km trip from spawn when using a car.
- Locate the building and FOB interactions, then learn how defenses and supply movement support a hold.
- Read the current keybinds before deploying. A control that changed between builds is harder to discover while under fire.
A first-match plan for players who skipped
Before leaving spawn
Check your funds, magazines, healing items, protection, sight, and class gadget. Decide whether you are driving, moving as a passenger, fighting, spotting, or helping with logistics. Do not spend every resource on a weapon while leaving no room for ammunition or recovery items.
During the approach
Use the trip to coordinate rather than treating the drive as dead time. Cars can take about four to five minutes over the reported spawn-to-zone distance, and a helicopter may be faster. Arriving together is often more useful than arriving individually at different times.
At the objective
Confirm whether the fight is in the Control Zone or Hot Zone, then choose a position that matches your role. A player learning revives should not take the same risk as a dedicated entry fighter; a logistics player may be more valuable keeping the route and supplies working than chasing a distant elimination.
After a loss
Use the rebuy screen as a decision point. Review what failed before purchasing the same kit again. If the problem was a shortage of ammunition, change preparation; if it was the route, change transport or timing; if it was an unsafe revive, preserve the next life rather than repeating the exposure.
Who should finish the tutorial?
- First-time tactical-shooter players: the economy, downed-state timing, and team roles are difficult to infer safely during a live match.
- Players unfamiliar with WARDOGS: finish if you do not yet know the Control Zone, Hot Zone, vehicles, FOBs, or supply loop.
- Players protecting an onboarding reward or completion record: the consequence of leaving early is not fully established, so completion avoids the uncertainty.
