How Years 1–7 cover the films
Years 1-4
The first game covers the first four school years in the story. It is one of the two full games in the compilation, not a short introductory chapter. The year range is the game’s story grouping; it should not be read as four separate products.
Years 5-7
The second game continues through the last three story years. Warner Bros. Games states that the two games together adapt all eight films, with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2 represented in the final game. Consequently, “Years 1-7” means seven narrative years spread across two titles, while the film adaptation count is eight.
Why the wording can be confusing
Store descriptions often shorten the name to “Years 1-7,” which can sound like one continuous game. In practical terms, you receive two campaigns that were originally released as separate games and are presented together in the collection. The split is useful to know if you are checking install sizes, ownership records or which title appears in a console library.

Exactly what the Character Pack adds
The Character Pack is included rather than sold as a separate purchase within the advertised collection. Warner Bros. Games’ launch announcement names all ten entries; the names below preserve the publisher’s wording:

Remaster features and what they mean
For the newer compilation, Warner Bros. Games announced a remaster with 60 frames per second, native 4K resolution, haptic feedback and high-resolution shadow maps. Those are publisher-stated features of the remastered release, not independent test results. The announcement does not promise that every feature behaves identically on every system, display or controller.

- Native 4K: the announcement’s resolution claim for the remaster.
- Haptic feedback: relevant to compatible controllers and hardware.
- High-resolution shadow maps: a listed visual upgrade.
Use these claims to distinguish the remaster from older releases, but confirm the platform-specific product page for the exact edition you intend to purchase. The announcement covers the remastered compilation broadly rather than providing a separate technical specification sheet for each platform.

The October 8, 2024 date is specifically the date shown on the cited US Xbox Store page. Other regions, storefronts and formats can display different availability information. The publisher characterized the PS5, Series X|S and Steam remaster as a digital launch; the cited material does not establish a universal physical SKU for every platform or country.

How to check that a store listing is the full collection
- Read the product name and platform line. Make sure it matches your hardware generation, such as PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, rather than relying on a thumbnail.
- Look for both game titles. The complete bundle should identify Years 1-4 and Years 5-7.
- Look for both DLC packs. The description should mention the Character Pack and Spell Pack, or explicitly state that the collection includes the previously released DLC.
- Check the region. Store pages can differ by country, and the PS4/PS5 presentation on PlayStation makes edition labels especially important.
- Confirm the format. The remaster announcement describes a digital launch for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam; do not infer a boxed edition from a third-party listing alone.
- Review the final platform-specific details. Verify the edition name, release status and included content immediately before purchase because storefront information can change.
What “included” does—and does not—promise
“Included” refers to the contents of the collection package: the two full games and the two named DLC packs. It does not, by itself, guarantee identical graphics settings across consoles and PC, a particular physical disc or cartridge, or availability in every country. Those questions belong to the platform listing and regional store page.
The available official descriptions also do not establish separate bonus missions, additional films, a third game or extra spell lists beyond the Character Pack’s ten entries and the Spell Pack’s five entries. If a retailer advertises extras not shown in the platform listing, treat that as a separate retailer claim and verify it before relying on it.

Choose the remaster when you have current hardware
If you play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S or a Steam-capable PC, the 2024 remastered compilation is the version whose announcement specifically names 60 FPS, native 4K, haptic feedback and high-resolution shadow maps. Confirm that your regional listing uses the remastered collection name and includes both packs.

Check carefully when buying for PS4
The official US PlayStation page displays PS4 and PS5 editions. A PS4 buyer should select the PS4 product label rather than assuming that a PS5 listing automatically represents the same entitlement. The page is the appropriate place to check the edition attached to your account and hardware.
Verify Xbox and PC listings directly
For Xbox, use the Series X|S store page and check the region. For PC, open the current Steam entry and inspect its package contents. The publisher’s announcement establishes the platforms, while the storefront supplies the transaction-specific information.
Bottom line for buyers
The complete LEGO Harry Potter Collection is a two-game compilation covering Years 1-7 and all eight films, with both previously released DLC packs already accounted for: 10 named Character Pack entries and five named spells.
