Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 version 1.002 added New Game+, Mission Replay, post-story time-of-day selection, new suit and Photo Mode options, and accessibility features. New Game+ lets you replay the story at a harder difficulty with suits and abilities carried over; Mission Replay and time-of-day selection are separate features.
New Game+ and replay features
New Game+
Version 1.002 added New Game+, which lets you start the story again at a harder difficulty while carrying over suits and abilities. The update also introduced Ultimate Levels.
Mission Replay
Mission Replay lets you revisit missions after completing them. It is a separate addition from New Game+.
Change the time of day
After completing the story, players can change the time of day. This post-story option is distinct from replaying missions.

Progression, abilities, and suits
The update added Golden Gadget styles and unlockable styles for several of Peter’s symbiote story suits. Players can also choose the color of symbiote abilities.
Both Peter and Miles received free Hellfire Gala suits. These cosmetics were included for all players, rather than being presented as a separate purchase.

Photo Mode additions
Photo Mode gained Action Figure Mode and stickers. The update also added two frames for the Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack. The pack included the Fly Suit for Peter, the Fresh Suit for Miles, ten Photo Mode stickers, and two frames.
The pack’s original U.S. promotion was time-limited: PlayStation said it would donate $4.99 per pack sold from March 7 through April 5, 2024, up to $1 million, and said the pack would later be available at no additional cost. That historical promotion does not establish current pricing or availability.

Accessibility additions
Insomniac said version 1.002 included more than 60 accessibility features and improvements. The announcement specifically named:
- Screen Reader: Covers settings, the FNSM App, and Touch Pad menus, including the map, skill tree, and tech readouts.
- Audio Descriptions
- Cinematic Captions: Caption options include off-screen sounds, emotional music cues, and key gameplay sounds.
- High Contrast Outlines

Release and platform
The announcement covered the PS5 version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It initially said version 1.002 was arriving March 7, 2024, then updated the post to say two game updates had been deployed and players on version 1.002 had access to the features.
