Starfield update 1.14.74, dated November 19, 2024, brought general performance and stability improvements, restored the uncapped frame-rate option on Xbox Series X, and fixed a range of gameplay, Tracker’s Alliance, and quest issues. Bethesda also added lipsync animation data generation to the Creation Kit. The patch notes do not give a measured performance gain or frame-rate benchmark.
Platform and general changes
Bethesda’s patch notes list general performance and stability improvements, but do not quantify them. The platform-specific changes include:

- Xbox Series X: The uncapped frame-rate option returned.
- Xbox: The Message of the Day should display more consistently.
- Console commands: Bethesda fixed an issue affecting whether certain commands disabled some achievements.
- Steam: Shattered Space ownership information should display correctly.
Gameplay fixes
- The Annihilator Particle Beam’s damage-over-time effect no longer causes companions to react.
- The Leadership skill’s effect on companion speech was fixed.
- Stealth-meter behavior near crowds of NPCs was corrected.
- Destroyed ships should no longer load without collision.
- Loading a save that depends on missing content should no longer send the player to an unexpected location.
Tracker’s Alliance bounty changes
The update corrects bounty completion counts and addresses several target and reward behaviors:
- Bounty targets can appear on Akila, Gagarin, and Cydonia.
- Extorting a target and then killing them no longer grants extra credits.
- Targets have more varied appearances.
- Resolved targets are removed after the player leaves the location.
- Extorting or bribing a target no longer guarantees success.

Star Thief and Legacy of the Fang
- Star Thief: The objective now displays correctly when boarding the derelict Watchdog.
- Legacy of the Fang: A key continues to open a door after the player leaves the area.
The Duel and The Scaled Citadel
- The Duel: The player can finish the quest after attacking Danika and being arrested.
- The Scaled Citadel: Anasko’s ID card is now marked as a quest item.
What Remains and A House Divided
- What Remains: The Oracle hatch should remain usable if certain Creations have been installed, and the Engineering Bay access card is marked as a quest item.
- A House Divided: Radiology-center doors remain unlocked after leaving and returning during the quest. Madri can also provide an access card after the quest.
Zealous Overreach
- Bethesda addressed an issue caused by killing Va’ruun Zealots outside Shadow Station Epsilon before receiving the quest.
- Dialogue with Razma or Viktor is available when Conflict in Conviction begins at the same time.
- Vortex Phantoms should no longer spawn close enough to disrupt a negotiation scene.
Creation Kit addition
The update adds lipsync animation data generation to the Creation Kit. Bethesda described the addition as: “Creation Kit: Lipsync animation data generation is now available.”

Bethesda’s dated release listing identifies update 1.14.74 as the November 19, 2024 update. It is not a newly released 2026 patch. The notes describe qualitative performance and stability improvements, but provide no FPS figure, percentage uplift, or benchmark. The fixes listed are specific changes; they do not promise that every player’s issue will be resolved.
