Prop Hunt arrived in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on December 5, 2024, at 9 AM PT, as part of Season 01 Reloaded. The later Double XP weekend began on December 13, 2024. These are two separate start dates: Prop Hunt was already in the game before the weekend promotion began.
Prop Hunt launch date: December 5, 2024
Season 01 Reloaded went live on December 5, 2024, at 9 AM PT, and introduced Prop Hunt to Black Ops 6 multiplayer. Activision’s Season 01 Reloaded announcement lists the mode among the update’s additions.
Double XP weekend start date: December 13, 2024
The free trial began December 13 and ran through December 20, 2024, with Prop Hunt included. A Call of Duty announcement reposted on Steam on December 13 said 2XP, 2WXP, 2BPXP, and double GobbleGum earn rates were live “all weekend long starting NOW.” It establishes December 13 as the start date, but gives no exact start hour, time zone, or shutdown time for the boosts. Steam’s repost of the announcement and Activision’s free-trial announcement provide the dates and trial details.
What Prop Hunt is
Prop Hunt is a hide-and-seek multiplayer mode. One side disguises itself as objects in the map while the other side searches for those disguised players. Props can move, whistle, drop decoys, change shape, and use a stun grenade, according to Activision’s Season 01 overview.
#1 Best Overall
- Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower.
- This is signature Black Ops across a cinematic single-player Campaign, a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, and the epic return of Round-Based Zombies.
- The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
- In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
- Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
The Season 01 patch notes say Prop Hunt’s XP earn rates were increased. That note does not specify how every XP category interacted with the later Double XP promotion, so it does not establish a guaranteed exact multiplier for Prop Hunt.
