Pokémon UNITE will end service on March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC on both Nintendo Switch and mobile. After that moment, you will not be able to log in, play battles, or continue normal online progression. The only announced way to preserve anything is the Library: complete its required data download before the deadline and you can later view certain records and in-game content. The Library is tied to the device where it was created, may not transfer to another Switch or phone, and will not receive post-shutdown support. Aeos Gem sales and new UNITE Club memberships have already stopped, so the practical choices now are to use eligible currency before closure, follow any local refund process, and finish the Library download without deleting your account.
When exactly does Pokémon UNITE close?
The shutdown applies to both versions of the game. All times in the official schedule are UTC, so convert the deadline to your local time rather than assuming it occurs at midnight where you live.

The end-of-service time and the loss of login and battle access are stated in Pokémon Support’s end-of-service notice. The sales and membership schedule is published in a separate Pokémon Support schedule.
What happens to my Pokémon UNITE account and progress?
Your live online account does not become a permanent, playable profile. The official notice promises no matchmaking, battles, account progression, or online inventory after the deadline. It describes only limited viewing through the Library for players who complete the required download in time.

Live progression stops
Once service ends, the systems that validate logins, battles, and progression are no longer available. Your Trainer level, ranked activity, match history, owned licenses, Holowear, held items, and other online records should therefore be treated as inaccessible for gameplay, even if some of them are represented in the Library.
The Library is an archive, not an offline version of UNITE
The Library lets eligible players view certain records and in-game content after closure. It does not keep matchmaking, create new progression, restore the servers, or turn the game into an offline battle client. The announcement does not promise that every item or every account screen will be preserved, so do not assume that a complete inventory or full account interface will remain viewable.
Pokémon Support’s wording is explicit: players who complete the library data download before service ends can still access the Library, while players who miss that deadline cannot activate it afterward. See the official notice for the exact preservation condition.
How do I preserve my Pokémon UNITE records?
You must wait for the Library update, then complete its required download while the service is still operating. Merely owning an account, updating the app, or leaving the game installed is not enough unless the in-game Library download has finished.

- Update after the feature arrives. The official regional announcement schedules the Library update for November 12, 2026, at 04:00 UTC. Check that your Switch or mobile build has received the update.
- Open the Library in-game. Follow the on-screen instructions to start the required library data download. The announcement does not describe this as an automatic account backup, so look for a clear completion state.
- Finish before March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC. Leave enough time for a large download, a software update, and any sign-in or storage problem. A download started after the service deadline cannot create Library access.
- Keep the device and game data intact. Library data generally cannot be transferred when changing devices. Avoid treating a new phone, a replacement Switch, or a fresh installation as a guaranteed way to recover it.
- Resolve support questions before closure. The official announcement says support for the Library will not be available after service ends.
The device limitation and the lack of post-shutdown Library support are described in the official Pokémon UNITE update announcement. Because recovery after deletion is not promised, choose the device on which you are most likely to retain the Library data.
Can I still use Aeos Gems?
Yes, but only until the service deadline. Aeos Gem sales stopped on October 27, 2026, at 05:00 UTC. Gems already on an account can be spent while the game remains live, but the official announcement says unused Gems will no longer be usable after March 23, 2027.
This creates a time-sensitive choice. If you use Gems, the resulting content may be represented in the Library only to the extent that the Library preserves it; the Library is not a promise that purchased content remains playable. If you leave Gems unused, do not assume they will automatically convert to cash or remain available after closure. Refund eligibility depends on your region and on whether the currency was purchased or awarded.
Will Pokémon UNITE refund my purchases?
There is no single worldwide refund rule in the published materials. The general virtual-content terms say fees cannot be exchanged for cash or credit unless required by law, and they say account closure does not create a refund obligation unless the law requires one. A specific Japan notice creates a narrower post-shutdown process for certain paid Gems, so its rules should not be applied to every country.

What the general terms say
The published Pokémon UNITE terms state: “FEES THAT HAVE BEEN PAID BY USER FOR THE VIRTUAL CONTENT CANNOT BE EXCHANGED FOR CASH OR CREDIT UNLESS REQUIRED BY LAW.” They also say that when an account is closed, the company will not provide money or other compensation unless required by law. Local consumer-protection rules can override those terms, but the terms themselves are not a universal refund promise.
What the Japan process covers
The official Japan shutdown notice says unused purchased paid Aeos Gems are eligible for a post-shutdown refund through an in-game form. It excludes bonus Gems and Gems granted as a UNITE membership benefit. The notice also warns players not to delete the game before completing the refund procedure, because deletion may prevent an application.
Spend now or preserve a possible refund claim?

Do not treat a Japan-specific process as evidence that every country will offer the same form, eligibility rules, or deadline. Look for a notice addressed to your market before relying on a refund.
What happens to UNITE Club?
UNITE Club is winding down rather than continuing indefinitely. New memberships and automatic renewals stopped on October 27, 2026, at 05:00 UTC. If you already had an active membership, its benefits continue only until the end of the membership period already in force.

There is no indication that an existing membership extends beyond the March 23, 2027 service end. Check the end date shown in your account, and do not budget for an automatic renewal that can no longer occur. The dates come from Pokémon Support’s shutdown schedule.

No. Account deletion is different from service closure and is irreversible under Pokémon Support’s account-deletion instructions.
The account deletion article says that deleting the account deletes all data, including purchases, and that the data cannot be recovered. Deletion can also interfere with the Japan refund procedure, which tells applicants not to delete the game before applying. Keep the account active while you complete any Library download or regional refund request.
Uninstalling is not described as a safe preservation method either. Since Library data generally cannot be transferred and post-shutdown support will not be available, removing the app or its local data can leave you without the archive you intended to keep.

What should I do before March 23, 2027?
Use this checklist in order, with the region-specific refund rule taking priority where it applies:
- Record the shutdown as March 23, 2027, 00:00 UTC and convert it to your local time.
- After the November 12 update is available, open Library and complete the required data download.
- Confirm that the Library download has finished rather than assuming an update alone preserved your account.
- Spend remaining Aeos Gems before shutdown unless an official refund process for your region and currency type tells you to retain them.
- Review your UNITE Club end date; neither new purchases nor automatic renewals continue.
- If your region offers a refund, follow the official in-game form and keep the game installed until the application is complete.
- Resolve billing, account, or access problems before the deadline because post-shutdown Library support is not available.
- Do not delete the Pokémon UNITE account as a way to archive it.
What remains after the servers close?
After the deadline, there is no playable Pokémon UNITE service: no login, battles, online progression, or new use of unused Aeos Gems. Eligible players who completed the Library download can still view the limited records and content that the Library supports, on the device where the data remains. That is preservation of selected information, not continuation of the account as an online game.

What time is 00:00 UTC on March 23, 2027, where I live?
Convert 00:00 UTC to your local time and account for daylight-saving rules in effect on that date. The deadline is a single global moment, so regions west of UTC will reach it on March 22 local time while regions east of UTC will see March 23.
Will the Library show every Pokémon UNITE item I own?
No complete inventory is promised. The announcements describe access to certain records and in-game content, so treat the Library as a limited archive rather than a guaranteed copy of every license, Holowear item, currency balance, or account screen.
Can I move my Pokémon UNITE Library from Switch to a new phone?
You should not rely on that. The official announcement says Library data generally cannot be transferred when changing devices, and there will be no post-shutdown support to recover a failed transfer.
Are UNITE Club-benefit Aeos Gems included in the Japan refund?
