Reach Maruki’s Councillor Confidant Rank 9 by November 17 in Persona 5 Royal. If you do, Rank 10 happens automatically on November 18, unlocking the third semester.
What is the deadline to max out Maruki?
November 17 is the practical deadline: that is the last day to reach Rank 9 yourself. Rank 10 follows automatically on November 18 if you have completed Rank 9 by then. Guides that name November 18 as the deadline are referring to this automatic final rank-up, not an extra day to reach Rank 9. Why does Maruki’s rank matter?
In Persona 5 Royal, reaching Councillor Rank 9 by November 17 is required to unlock the third semester. If you want to see that additional story content, prioritize Maruki’s Confidant and check your current rank against the in-game date.
Does this apply to the original Persona 5?
No. This deadline applies specifically to Persona 5 Royal and its third-semester content. The original Persona 5 has different dates and requirements, so do not use the Royal deadline as a guide for that version.

Can you still finish if you are behind?
That depends on your save’s current date, rank, and remaining opportunities to spend time with Maruki. The deadline alone does not establish a reliable catch-up schedule for every save, so compare your current progress with November 17 rather than assuming a particular rank on a particular day is safe.
