Pokémon Day 2026 was Friday, February 27—the franchise’s 30th anniversary. The Pokémon Company scheduled a Pokémon Presents for that date, and the presentation was published on Pokémon Day. Nintendo later confirmed that Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen became available as Nintendo Switch downloads after the broadcast. Any “rumors” about the event should be treated as pre-show predictions, not announcements.

Pokémon Day is February 27, the date the first Pokémon games, Pocket Monsters Red and Pocket Monsters Green, launched in Japan in 1996. In 2026, the annual date fell on a Friday and marked 30 years since that release. When was Pokémon Presents 2026?
The Pokémon Company scheduled Pokémon Presents for Friday, February 27, 2026. Its Japanese announcement gave a start time of 23:00 Japan time, equivalent to 14:00 UTC, and estimated the broadcast would run for about 25 minutes. The presentation has already taken place; Nintendo’s recap confirms it was published on Pokémon Day.

What were the Pokémon Presents rumors?

What else was confirmed for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary?
The Pokémon Company announced the 30th-anniversary date, a commemorative logo, and a Pikachu video in a January 9 notice: Pokémon Official Site (Japan), January 9, 2026.

The official Pokémon Card Game site announced a special product celebrating the TCG’s 30th anniversary, with a planned worldwide release during 2026, subject to some regional exceptions. As of the announcement, the exact release date and further product details were still to be announced.
