The “another chance” to preorder the retro-themed PS5 was a second preorder window announced for October 29, 2024, at noon ET (9 AM PDT). That date has passed; Engadget’s report does not establish whether the console or controller is available now.
What was available in the October 29 preorder window?
Engadget reported that Sony product-page notices announced another preorder round for the digital-edition PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary bundle and the separate 30th Anniversary DualSense controller. The notice said, “Please check back on October 29th from 9 AM PDT”. Engadget did not see a corresponding notice on the 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro bundle or PlayStation Portal pages.

The report put the bundle’s preorder price at $500 and the separate controller’s at $80 in 2024. Those are historical reported prices, not current prices.
What came in the PS5 Slim bundle?
The bundle was a digital PS5 Slim, with no disc drive. Engadget described its gray finish as recalling the original PlayStation. Reported accessories and collectibles included:

Why was there a second preorder?
Engadget said the initial preorder period began September 26, 2024, and that the limited-edition hardware sold out quickly. The report did not provide a measured sellout time or sales figure. The October 29 announcement was another chance to preorder at that time, not evidence of a currently open preorder.
