Path of Exile 2 Early Access is available on PC (standalone client, Steam, and Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. PC access can be used across the three PC clients, but it does not grant console access: you need the relevant platform entitlement to play on Xbox or PlayStation. Current listings and terms can vary by region, so check your local store before buying.
Which platforms support Path of Exile 2 Early Access?
| Platform | What to know |
|---|---|
| Standalone PC | Use the official Path of Exile client and account. Grinding Gear Games’ Early Access FAQ and its later platform announcement list the standalone client. |
| Steam | The Steam client is supported. A PC entitlement can also unlock the Steam client where needed. Check the official Steam listing for current access terms. |
| Epic Games Store | The Epic client is listed alongside standalone PC and Steam in the official platform information. See the official announcement. |
| Xbox Series X|S | Path of Exile 2 is listed for Xbox Series. Confirm Early Access availability and terms in your local Xbox Store listing. |
| PlayStation 5 | Path of Exile 2 is listed for PS5. Check the local PlayStation Store listing for current access terms. |
These platform listings do not mean that one purchase covers every device. In particular, do not assume a Steam or standalone PC purchase grants Early Access on Xbox or PlayStation.

Does a PC purchase work on other PC clients?
Yes. Grinding Gear Games’ FAQ describes using a PC Early Access key or entitlement to unlock another PC client among standalone, Steam, and Epic. If you already have PC access and want to launch through a different storefront, follow the FAQ’s client-key instructions for that storefront. The client key unlocks the game in the client library; it is not a second Early Access entitlement.
Do you need to buy Early Access again for console?
PC and console access are separate. Grinding Gear Games staff have clarified that Early Access keys do not transfer between platforms. A PC key cannot be redeemed on Xbox or PlayStation, and access on another console platform requires that platform’s entitlement. Check the specific local console store listing before purchasing.

Does cross-progression let you change platforms?
Cross-progression and Early Access entitlement are different. The Xbox listing describes cross-play and cross-progression, and GGG staff guidance says character progress can be shared when accounts are properly linked. Linking accounts does not convert a PC key into console access or remove the need for the relevant platform entitlement.
How was Early Access granted?
The November 2024 GGG FAQ says an Early Access Supporter Pack with a key grants access. It also describes automatic access for players who bought a top-tier supporter pack or had spent at least $480 USD in lifetime Path of Exile purchases on a single platform. That is a historical eligibility rule from the FAQ, not a guarantee that purchases on another platform count. Check your account’s entitlement rather than relying on a purchase made elsewhere.
Is Path of Exile 2 coming to Mac?
The launch-period FAQ said macOS would not be available at the start of Early Access. That statement does not establish the game’s current macOS status, and the official information cited here does not confirm a later change. Check for a newer GGG announcement before choosing a Mac as your platform.
Will Path of Exile 2 become free to play?
Official Steam and PlayStation store pages describe a free-to-play version after Early Access. The cited listings do not establish a confirmed date for that release. Until a date is announced, treat Early Access access and the eventual free-to-play release as separate decisions.
