On Windows PC, Cyberpunk 2077 saves are stored at %userprofile%Saved GamesCD Projekt RedCyberpunk 2077. On macOS, find them at ~/Library/Application Support/CD Projekt Red/Cyberpunk 2077/Saves. The folders differ by operating system; the official instructions cited here do not specify a local save-folder path for PlayStation, Xbox, Steam Deck, or Linux.
Find your save files on Windows PC
- Press Windows + S to open Windows Search.
- Paste
%userprofile%Saved GamesCD Projekt RedCyberpunk 2077and open the matching folder. The%userprofile%portion resolves to the current Windows account’s user profile. CD PROJEKT RED’s clean-install instructions give this path; its save-location support page also covers where PC saves are located.
Find your save files on macOS
In Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder, enter ~/Library/Application Support/CD Projekt Red/Cyberpunk 2077/Saves, and press Return. The tilde (~) represents your home folder. The Library folder may not appear when browsing normally. CD PROJEKT RED documents this Mac location in its instructions for sending save files to support.
Back up or restore saves
Before a clean install on Windows PC, copy your saves to a different hard drive or external device, as CD PROJEKT RED recommends. If Cyberpunk 2077 cloud saves are enabled, the publisher says to disable them before uninstalling; you can re-enable them afterward if you want. After reinstalling, copy the backed-up saves into the newly created folder at the Windows path above. These clean-install steps come from the publisher’s Windows PC guide.
Files needed when contacting support
For a save-folder submission, CD PROJEKT RED’s Mac support instructions identify three nested files: metadata.9.json, sav.dat, and screenshot.png. Include all three when the support form requests a save. See the publisher’s support instructions.

Console, Steam Deck, and Linux saves
The official support pages cited here do not provide a local filesystem location for PlayStation or Xbox saves, and they do not verify that either the Windows or macOS path applies to Steam Deck or Linux. For consoles, use the platform’s saved-data management controls or current platform-specific official support instructions rather than entering the PC path.
