That guide was written for Isle 8, and Roblox’s current game listing displays Update 10.3, so treat the route as a starting point and confirm it once you are in the game.
The route to the green button
The most detailed route available describes a walk from the Observatory into the mountain area. A community walkthrough written for the Isle 8 version of the game gives this description:
“To get to it you have should go towards the mountain from the observatory and walk up the dirt path untill you find a very small cave in the mountain. Go through it and you should find the green button.”
The guide presents the button as part of the Explorer badge route. Follow these steps in order:

- Spawn and walk to the Observatory.
- Head toward the mountain that sits near it.
- Follow the dirt path uphill until you reach a very small cave set into the mountain.
- Go through the cave. The green button is inside.
If you do not see a cave on the dirt path, do not assume the button is gone. The guide’s author warned that locations and requirements may have changed since Isle 8, so the path may have been altered in later updates.
Why the location is not fully settled
Two other sources point elsewhere, and they do not agree with the cave route.

- A 2023 Games Learning Society article places the green button beside a flowing river near the bridge that leads to the Observatory. No version is stated in the article, and the river location could not be confirmed against any other source.
- A community sandbox wiki describes a set of eight colored buttons that open a special area near Dividing Shore and under Rocky Divider. The page includes an image labelled as the green button but does not describe where it sits, so it cannot settle the question.
The cave route is the only location with a specific, step-by-step description, which is why it is the primary answer above. The river claim is worth checking if the cave is missing, but it should be treated as unverified.

- Confirm you are heading toward the mountain next to the Observatory, not a different landmark.
- Walk the entire dirt path. The cave is described as very small, so it is easy to pass at a glance.
- If the cave is absent, look along the river near the bridge to the Observatory, which is the location the 2023 article gives.
- Compare the eight-button set on the sandbox wiki with what you see in the area near Dividing Shore and Rocky Divider.
If none of these produce a button, the game has most likely changed since the Isle 8 guide was written. Newer updates may have moved or replaced the button, and no source reviewed here documents such a change.
What the button leads to
In the Isle 8 walkthrough, the green button is one of five buttons that belong to the Explorer badge route. According to the guide, once all five are pressed, a rumble occurs and a green door opens at Ape City. These steps come from the same Isle 8 source, so they carry the same version caveat as the cave route. Verify each step against the current game before relying on it.

Why official sources say little about locations
Roblox’s official game listing for Isle describes the experience as ongoing and asks players to “play with friends, and avoid using external guides, tutorials or wikis” for the best experience. That is Roblox’s stated preference, and it means the official listing will not give you button locations. For this question, the community guides above are the only sources that describe a route at all, and they should be read with their version limits in mind.
