Leapers currently have listed spawn and patrol areas on four ARC Raiders maps: Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, Spaceport, and The Blue Gate. Dam Battlegrounds is generally the best farming choice because it has the most reported search areas, although it also creates more danger from other ARCs and rival Raiders.
The enemy was called Bison during the Server Slam test, but its current name is Leaper. Spawn points are potential locations rather than guaranteed appearances, so treat each route as a search pattern—not a promise that one will be there.

Leaper locations in ARC Raiders
Use the following areas when searching for Leapers. The exact encounter can vary between raids, and the available sources do not establish a fixed respawn timer or guaranteed activation condition.
Dam Battlegrounds
- Southeast of the Hydroponic Dome Complex
- Water Treatment Control Elevator
- Red Lakes Balcony
- Lower Red Lakes Area
More detailed route landmarks include the Water Treatment Extraction Point, the area east of Research & Administration near Testing Annex Extraction Point, the Hydroponic Dome Complex, and the Red Lakes/Floodgates area, where two possible Leaper locations are reported. The current location list and Shacknews’ route guide both identify Dam Battlegrounds as the most consistently useful map for farming.

Which map is best for farming Leapers?
Start with Dam Battlegrounds. The available guides list more potential Leaper areas there than on the other maps and generally describe it as the most practical farming route. That is a comparative community recommendation, not an official spawn-rate confirmation.
The trade-off is safety. Dam Battlegrounds is exposed, can bring additional ARC pressure, and may attract other Raiders. If you are carrying valuable gear or only need one kill, a shorter search on Buried City, Spaceport, or The Blue Gate may be preferable.

How to fight a Leaper safely
1. Choose your ground before attacking
Do not begin the fight in an open field if you can avoid it. Position yourself beside solid cover such as a wall, pillar, vehicle, railing, or elevation change, and make sure you have a retreat route. Cover will not replace movement, but it can limit the Leaper’s approach and give you time to recover from a missed dodge.
2. Clear smaller ARCs first
Leapers may patrol with or near smaller enemies. Remove nearby threats before committing to the heavy target whenever possible. Being forced to reload or dodge a second enemy during a Leaper’s attack is one of the easiest ways to lose control of the encounter.

3. Dodge the leap sideways
The Leaper telegraphs its leap with a crouch or settling animation. When it prepares to jump, dodge sideways or change direction diagonally. Continuing to sprint directly away is unreliable because the landing can cause substantial damage even when the Leaper does not land directly on top of you; its impact and shockwave cover surrounding space.

- Throw a Blaze Grenade directly onto the Leaper.
- Stay outside slam range while the burn runs.
- Throw a second grenade after the first burn ends.
- Finish with a heavy-ammo weapon aimed at the eye or leg joints.
This approach reduces the amount of time you need to spend trading shots at close range. Keep moving while the burn works and do not stand still to watch the damage tick.

Leaper weak points, health, XP, and rewards
The Leaper has heavy armor, a listed health value of 1,100, and two listed weak-point areas: the eye and leg joints. Its primary attack is the leap, and it can also use a shockwave.

Are Leapers more common during storms or night raids?
Do not treat storms or night raids as confirmed Leaper spawn mechanics. Some player reports describe multiple encounters during an Electromagnetic Storm, and guides recommend those conditions when pursuing Trial points, but the retrieved evidence does not verify a guaranteed increase, fixed timer, double spawn, or guaranteed multi-Leaper raid.
If you choose to search during a storm, do so because the conditions suit your objective—not because a Leaper is guaranteed to appear. Plan an extraction route before the fight, since a storm encounter can add both combat and navigation risk.

One reported setup near Testing Annex uses the balcony window overlooking the yard near the elevator. From above, the player fires through the window while using the balcony rail and window frame as partial cover. This can provide a useful angle, but it is a player-tested positioning method rather than an official safe spot or guaranteed exploit. The Leaper can still pressure the position, and nearby enemies or another Raider can make the setup unsafe.
