For 20 Dragon’s Tongue, head to Fort Redwater: an accepted GameFAQs answer for the original Oblivion reports 21 plants near the entrance, enough for the target in one trip. If you cannot use that route, the answer describes a second sufficient area along the Lower Niben inlet south of Bravil. These are guide-reported locations and counts, not confirmed for Oblivion Remastered.
Best route: Fort Redwater
Travel to Fort Redwater and search near its entrance. The accepted answer to a question about the PC Game of the Year Edition reports 21 Dragon’s Tongue plants there. The Elder Scrolls Wiki’s ingredient page also lists many plants around Fort Redwater, on the shore of the Panther River. Read the GameFAQs directions or check the ingredient location listing.
The reported count is just one above your 20-item goal, so gather carefully and check the area around the entrance rather than assuming the flowers are all in one obvious cluster.
Other places to collect Dragon’s Tongue
Lower Niben inlet south of Bravil
The GameFAQs answer recommends following the path south of Bravil and checking the inlet’s north shore. It describes scattered plants across the area as enough for 20, but does not give a precise count. The Elder Scrolls Wiki separately lists two patches near the “t” in “County Bravil,” totaling 16 plants; because those counts and descriptions do not line up exactly, treat this as a broader search area rather than a guaranteed 20-plant patch.

Southwest of Fort Irony
The GameFAQs answer reports 14 plants just southwest of Fort Irony’s entrance. That is a useful partial haul, but it leaves you six short of 20; combine it with another patch.
Fort Bulwark
Fort Bulwark is associated with the Knights of the Nine add-on. The Elder Scrolls Wiki reports 11 Dragon’s Tongue there—five inside the walls and six outside—so it cannot meet a 20-plant target alone. It may be useful if you also need Redwort Flower: the wiki lists 24 Redwort in the area, while the GameFAQs answer reports 21. Those are differing guide counts, not guaranteed totals. Smaller supplementary patches
The community-edited Elder Scrolls Wiki also lists 12 plants west of Fort Irony, four near Greyland, six in Frostcrag Spire’s living area, and smaller groups near the Mouth of the Panther and elsewhere. These can help fill a shortfall, but the figures are guide listings rather than independently verified counts.
Make sure you have the right ingredient
Dragon’s Tongue is an alchemy ingredient with form ID 00025039. The Elder Scrolls Wiki lists its effects as Resist Fire, Damage Health, Restore Health, and Fire Shield. Game8’s Remastered entry reports the same ID and effects, and was updated May 9, 2025; that supports the item’s identity, but does not establish that the original game’s gathering locations or quantities are unchanged in Remastered. Which game version do these directions cover?
The location counts above come from guides for original Oblivion, including the PC Game of the Year Edition question on GameFAQs. Fort Bulwark specifically depends on the Knights of the Nine add-on. The available Remastered item entry verifies ingredient details, but does not confirm that these routes, counts, or respawn behavior match the original game.
