Where do you find every glyph in Assassin’s Creed II? There are 20, spread across Florence, Monteriggioni, Tuscany, Romagna and Venice. You can collect them in any order; the numbered list below follows the order used by the GameFAQs location guide, not a required route. Spoilers: finding and solving all 20 reveals the complete video left by Subject 16.
To activate a glyph puzzle, stand in front of the glyph and use Eagle Vision. Finding a glyph and solving its puzzle are separate steps: the puzzles unlock in a fixed sequence, even if you collect the glyphs in a different order. The guide describes four recurring puzzle types: selecting a detail in an image, identifying five pictures that share a theme, rotating rings to complete an image, and using a cipher key and code wheel to derive a three-digit password.
For a map clue, the guide says a building image in the game database is marked with a red diamond containing an eye when it has a glyph.
Florence — San Marco District
- La Rosa Colta: Check the southern rooftop.
- Ospedale degli Innocenti: Check the eastern rooftop.
- Santa Croce: On the north side, on the lower roof section to the left when facing the front.
Florence — Santa Maria Novella District
- San Lorenzo church: At the church’s northern edge, between the dome and a bell tower.
- Mercato Vecchio: Go to the roof’s northeast corner and look down.
Monteriggioni
- Villa Auditore: On the front face, in the top-left corner.
Tuscany — Countryside
- Antico Teatro Romano: Inside a covered, tunnel-like section on the east side.
- Monte Oliveto Maggiore: On the east face of the tower.
Tuscany — San Gimignano
- Santa Maria Assunta: Face the front and go through the archway to the left of the main entrance.
- Torre del Diavolo: At the top.
- Torri dei Salvucci: Between the two towers.
Romagna
- San Mercuriale: Above the courtyard on the west side.
- Lighthouse tower: At the far northeast of the map, on the outside below the viewpoint. The guide places it north of the building whose location note you obtain.
Venice — San Polo District
- San Giacomo di Rialto: On top, between the dome and bell tower.
- Ponte di Rialto: Beneath the east side of the bridge. Swim underneath to see the glyph.
- Gilda dei Ladri di Venezia: On the rooftop just north of the entrance to the main office.
Venice — San Marco District
- Campanile di San Marco: In an open section on the tower’s top floor, near the top.
- Torre dell’Orologio: On the roof directly above the clock.
Venice — Castello District
- Scuola Grande di San Marco: On top.
- San Pietro di Castello: On the east side.
The landmark names and location cues follow the GameFAQs guide; its numbering is simply the author’s discovery order. Its listed locations are practical community-guide directions, not developer statements.
