As of Valve’s April 28, 2026 announcement, Cache is available from the Play menu in Casual, Competitive, Deathmatch, and Retakes. Open one of those modes and look for Cache in its map options; Valve said this availability applied “for now,” so it may change in a later update.
Which Counter-Strike 2 modes have Cache?
Valve listed Cache for four modes in its April 28, 2026 announcement:
- Casual
- Competitive
- Deathmatch
- Retakes
To find it, open Play and check the map choices for one of those modes. Valve described the availability as “for now,” rather than promising that the mode list is permanent.
Is Cache in Premier or the Active Duty map pool?
The cited announcement does not establish that Cache is available in Premier or included in the Active Duty map pool. Its confirmed mode list is Casual, Competitive, Deathmatch, and Retakes; it does not support a claim about Premier or Active Duty.

Is the Steam Workshop Cache map the same as the official return?
No. Steam has a separate community Workshop item titled Cache. That listing identifies the item as a Workshop map and marks it incompatible with Counter-Strike 2. It is distinct from Valve’s official announcement that Cache is available in the game’s listed modes.

- Counter Attack is a football (soccer) strategy game which lasts for 90 minutes. The two players ('managers') each control a team of 11 players. Every player has a unique set of skills that the managers try to best utilise during play. Managers control how the players move, pass, dribble, tackle and shoot.
