Calm Thoughts come from the Phantom Trial: Wish Master Chigda in the Realm of Breakthrough. To unlock it, progress the main story through Chapter 7 and complete “Showdown with Chigda!” Guides report that the trial costs 60 Vital Energy and can be claimed once per week for three Calm Thoughts; check the activity’s reward screen in your current game version to confirm its cost, cadence, and reward.
How to unlock the Calm Thoughts source
- Advance the main story to Chapter 7, Secret of the Grand Tree.
- Complete the quest “Showdown with Chigda!” near the end of the chapter.
- After the quest unlocks the Realm of Breakthrough, open it and select the Phantom Trial for Wish Master Chigda.
Gamer Guides identifies that trial as the regular source of Calm Thoughts and places its unlock after “Showdown with Chigda!” (Gamer Guides).
How many Calm Thoughts the trial gives
Older, unofficial guides report a cost of 60 Vital Energy, a weekly claim, and three Calm Thoughts per clear. A separate guide also reports three Calm Thoughts from the Chapter 7 boss and three from the first clear of the Realm activity (Infinity Nikki Wiki). These are guide-reported mechanics, not confirmed current-version values. Before spending Vital Energy, check the Phantom Trial’s live reward preview for its current cost, claim limit, and drop amount.
What Calm Thoughts are used for
Calm Thoughts are a Growth Material, not an item to pick up in the open world. They are used for eligible four-star outfit evolutions, which unlock alternate color versions. Open the Pear-Pal and choose Evolution to view the requirements for an outfit; Calm Thoughts are only one of them, and evolution can also require a duplicate outfit and other materials. This use is described by PC Gamer.
