For the NCR Ranger Veteran Armor mod by DogtoothCG Unoctium, the mod page’s discussion points to the Veteran Ranger armor at Lonely Chapel or Kellogg’s House. The same community guidance places Riot Gear in the Commonwealth Bank near Faneuil Hall and Tanner’s Rebreather at Cabot House. These are reported locations, not an official in-game guide; locations may differ in another mod port or version.
Locations by armor piece
| Item | Reported location | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Veteran Ranger armor | Lonely Chapel or Kellogg’s House | At Kellogg’s House, an older player report says a button beneath the desk opens a hidden room with a safe containing the armor. |
| Riot Gear | Commonwealth Bank, near Faneuil Hall | The mod-page comment says to open the bank vault door. |
| Tanner’s Rebreather | Cabot House | The discussion identifies the exhibition hall. A commenter says it has a red visor glow and cannot be upgraded. |
The item-specific locations above come from a user comment in the Nexus Mods discussion for NCR Ranger Veteran Armor, rather than a formal location list in the mod description. The Rebreather details are likewise community-reported.

How to find the Veteran armor at Kellogg’s House
- Go to Kellogg’s House in Diamond City and search beneath the desk for a button.
- Press the button to open the hidden room.
- Check the safe inside for the armor.
This hidden-room detail comes from an older report, while the mod-page discussion also lists Lonely Chapel as a location. If the safe is empty, check Lonely Chapel and confirm that your installed mod is the same listing.
Why another guide may give a different location
“NCR Ranger Armor” has been used for different listings or ports. The Nexus listing is NCR Ranger Veteran Armor by DogtoothCG Unoctium; it reports version 0.4, an original upload date of 26 January 2016, and a last update of 24 May 2018. The Steam thread titled “Fallout 4 Mod: NCR Ranger Armor location” began on 4 September 2016, and its original poster says they installed a Bethesda.net mod. That thread also mentions Kellogg’s House and, in a later comment, Lonely Chapel, but does not identify a build number. See the Steam discussion.

- Intense first or third person combat can also be slowed down with the new dynamic Vault Tec Assisted Targeting System (V.A.T.S) that lets you choose your attacks and enjoy cinematic carnage
An older video description for the DogtoothCG Unoctium mod additionally places Veteran armor and an anti-material rifle in the Institute; it says the rifle is in a storage room alongside Kellogg’s tape. Treat the Institute report as version-specific rather than a location confirmed by the newer Nexus discussion. The video description dates to 26 January 2016.
The Nexus page includes Xbox One and PS4 version tags, but the available location reports do not establish that every item spawns in the same place on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. Match advice to the exact port and version you installed.

If an item is missing
- Check the location for the correct piece: the reported bank location is for Riot Gear, while Cabot House is for Tanner’s Rebreather.
- For Riot Gear, make sure the Commonwealth Bank vault door is open.
- On PC, a Nexus commenter suggests using the console query
help riotto search for names such as Riot Gear Coat and Riot Helmet. An older video description suggestshelp ranger 0to locate item IDs, followed byplayer.additem. These are community suggestions, not commands verified for every version or port. - Do not rely on truncated or placeholder-like item IDs posted with
player.placeatmeexamples; they are not a dependable universal command.
Console commands are platform-dependent. If you are on a console, use the reported in-world locations and check the documentation or discussion for your specific mod port instead.
