A PC Gamer guide published October 9, 2026, identifies those technological and industrial areas as strong targets and says the yellow drawer containers in Assembly seem to drop Sheet Metal reliably. Pendola Pass and Riven Tides provide additional places to check, but their loot is variable.
Sheet Metal is a common Basic Material used for Outpost furniture. The current community item reference lists five pieces among the materials for a stage-two Outpost project, alongside Planks, ARC Alloy and Advanced Electrical Components. Because loot tables and project requirements can change with patches, use the in-game requirement as the final authority.

Choose between buying and scavenging
There are two practical ways to obtain Sheet Metal. Celeste’s exchange is predictable: three Assorted Seeds produce one piece. Scavenging consumes a raid and inventory space, but it lets you look for several pieces while collecting other materials. No researched source provides a controlled drop rate or a measured time-to-loot comparison, so no route can be called objectively fastest for every player.

Buy Sheet Metal from Celeste in Speranza

When the exchange makes sense
- You need a specific number of pieces for an Outpost project and already have enough Assorted Seeds.
- You are preparing a project before a raid and do not want to depend on variable loot.
- You have checked likely locations without finding the final piece.
What the exchange does not tell you
The cited guide establishes the listed price, but it does not establish an unlimited stock, a reset schedule or any alternate currency. Check Celeste’s current in-game menu before committing Seeds, particularly after an update. If the menu differs, follow the live game rather than an older guide.
Start scavenging in Stella Montis
Stella Montis has the clearest location guidance in the available guides. Search both the Assembly and the Loading Bay, because they are described as technological or industrial areas where Sheet Metal is likely to appear.
Assembly
Make yellow drawer containers your first checks. PC Gamer Senior Guides Writer Sean Martin wrote that players can find “loads of sheet metal” in technological and industrial areas, including Assembly and Loading Bay, and that “every yellow drawer container” in Assembly seems to be a guaranteed drop for sheet metal.” The wording matters: “seems to be” is an observation from a guide, not a published experiment or official drop-rate statement.

Loading Bay
Loading Bay is the second Stella Montis target named by the guide. Work through its industrial containers and exposed loot surfaces methodically. If Assembly has already been searched or is contested, Loading Bay gives you another nearby area that fits the same technological-industrial profile.
A practical Stella Montis loop
- Enter with enough free inventory space to keep material found in drawers and on surfaces.
- Search Assembly first, giving yellow drawers priority.
- Record whether the drawers produced the quantity you need before moving on; do not keep repeating an empty section without checking another area.
- Continue to Loading Bay and inspect eligible industrial containers and exposed surfaces.
- Leave with the Sheet Metal you found, or switch to Celeste later if the raid did not provide enough.
Other reported locations on Pendola Pass
A separate guide lists several Pendola Pass areas as additional places to look. These are candidate loot zones rather than official spawn guarantees. Search them when your route already passes nearby or when Stella Montis is not practical.
Commissary Supermarket
The Commissary Supermarket is described as a dense collection of possible loot spots. Check shelves and nearby containers instead of searching only one display area. Sheet Metal may be present on a shelf or in a container, but the guide notes that each location can roll other items.
Old Town
Old Town’s useful surfaces include shelves, tables and sofas. Scan those surfaces deliberately and then check nearby eligible containers. This is a broad search pattern: the location is named as a candidate, not as a place where every raid produces Sheet Metal.

Almaterra Station and the Northern Tracks
At Almaterra Station, search inside trains, with particular attention to seats and tables. Include the Northern Tracks in the same sweep if your route reaches them. Train interiors can be easy to overlook when moving quickly, so check each accessible carriage area before leaving.
How to use Pendola Pass efficiently
- Choose one compact area and finish its shelves, surfaces and containers before crossing the map.
- Keep a mental distinction between a possible loot spot and a confirmed Sheet Metal result; the guides do not provide a drop percentage.
- If the first area yields unrelated items, move to the next named area rather than assuming the material is absent from the entire map.
Container-focused searches on Riven Tides
On Riven Tides, the recommended approach is to follow industrial and shipping infrastructure. The named route covers the Port Authority Building, Stacking Yard and Railyard.
Port Authority Building
Begin with the Dockmaster’s Office. Check accessible containers and surface loot there before moving toward the yard. The office is a specific search point from the guide, not a promise that every visit contains Sheet Metal.
Stacking Yard
Inspect the green cabinets at the Stacking Yard. Also search surface loot in crane control rooms. These details matter because Sheet Metal can appear as loose loot on shelves, tables, desks, seats and similar surfaces, not only inside a single container type.

Railyard
Open containers on flatbed railcars and search the surrounding rail areas. The guide presents this as a container-focused opportunity; it explicitly does not guarantee a Sheet Metal drop on every run.
Riven Tides route order
- Check the Dockmaster’s Office in the Port Authority Building.
- Move to the Stacking Yard and inspect green cabinets.
- Search crane control rooms for surface loot.
- Finish by opening containers on flatbed railcars in the Railyard.
How to search without wasting a raid
Sheet Metal can be loose loot or container loot. A fast pass that checks only one drawer type can therefore miss it. Use a repeatable routine so that you can tell whether a location failed to produce the item or whether part of the area was skipped.
- Set the objective. Decide whether you need one final piece or a larger stockpile. For one or two pieces, Celeste’s exchange may be more efficient if you have Seeds; for a larger haul, scavenging lets you search multiple areas in one outing.
- Reserve inventory space. Leave room for Sheet Metal and the other materials you may find. A full inventory can force an avoidable choice before you finish the route.
- Search by category. Inspect named containers first, then shelves, tables, desks, seats and other exposed surfaces. Do not assume a visual surface is decorative just because the previous one held another item.
- Finish a small zone. Complete Assembly before abandoning it, or complete one Pendola Pass location before crossing to another. This makes your results comparable from raid to raid without pretending that you have a measured drop rate.
- Switch plans when the evidence is enough. If the remaining requirement is small and your search has produced nothing, stop spending raid time and use Celeste if the Seed exchange is available.
- Verify the project afterward. Open the Outpost project screen and confirm the live requirement before spending the last pieces. Community item pages can lag behind a patch.

The five-piece figure comes from the current community-maintained item reference, not an official developer drop table. If your in-game project screen shows a different quantity, use that current screen; an update may have changed the recipe.

Why a location may not produce Sheet Metal
The loot roll selected another item
A named area contains possible loot spots, not an assured result. Search the rest of the zone, then move to another target or use Celeste.
Another player reached the container first
In a shared raid, an apparently appropriate drawer or cabinet may no longer contain its original item. Check the remaining route rather than treating one empty container as proof that the location never produces Sheet Metal.
The guide or game was updated
Location guidance is tied to the October 2026 guides cited here. Patches can alter loot behavior, container contents or Outpost recipes. Recheck the in-game project and vendor screens after an update.

You searched only containers
AllThingsHow reports Sheet Metal as loose loot on shelves, tables, desks, seats and similar surfaces as well as in some industrial containers. Include both categories in every sweep.
Patch and evidence caveats
No official developer page in the available material documents an exact Sheet Metal spawn rate or a route that succeeds every time. The yellow-drawer statement for Assembly is useful because it is a specific field observation, but its qualification must remain intact: it seems guaranteed, rather than being a measured 100-percent rate. The Pendola Pass and Riven Tides recommendations likewise describe places worth checking, not fixed spawn tables.
For the most current decision, compare the live game with these guide observations: inspect Celeste’s current exchange, read the Outpost project’s present recipe, and note whether the named containers still behave as described. That approach lets you benefit from the strongest known routes without treating older guidance as permanent game data.
