Only the Black Knight carrying the corresponding weapon can drop it. The Kiln contains respawning Black Knights wielding all four weapon types, so it offers repeat attempts for whichever weapon you are seeking. The Dark Souls Wiki lists these locations and drop mechanics.
How to choose where to farm
Take the early chance
When you reach an early area with the matching Black Knight, defeating it gives you a chance at its weapon without waiting for the Kiln. These early encounters do not respawn; if the weapon does not drop, that particular knight cannot be tried again.
Use the Kiln for repeat attempts
If you have already defeated the early matching knight or want repeated chances, continue until you reach the Kiln of the First Flame and defeat the Black Knight wielding the weapon you want. The available sources do not establish the exact progression requirements or route for opening the Kiln.

Where to find the Undead Parish Greatsword knight
The early Black Knight wielding the Greatsword stands atop a watchtower near the Altar of Sunlight, past the Hellkite Dragon. This is the most specifically documented landmark route among the early encounters. The Greatsword location reference identifies the Parish watchtower.

The Dark Souls Wiki reports a 20% chance for a matching Black Knight weapon to drop. This is a community-wiki-reported game mechanic, not an officially verified rate. The wiki’s Item Discovery guidance says the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring, Symbol of Avarice, and Humanity can improve Item Discovery; the two equipment items do not stack, and the Humanity bonus caps at 10. These are also wiki-reported mechanics rather than publisher-confirmed figures.
