Find the Plasma Thrusters on Eden: climb to the summit of Spire Grove above Fairfield and loot Jackson Plum’s corpse. The broken elevator is one way up if you have three Engineering points to repair it; otherwise, use one of the climbing routes described below.
How to reach Jackson Plum at Spire Grove
- Accept the quest in Fairfield. Speak with Huell Chaudry and accept “Perilous Journey to the Grove.” Neoseeker places Huell by the jail building on the town’s main street. The quest gives context for the trip; the Plasma Thrusters themselves are reported as loot on Jackson Plum’s body. (Neoseeker; Gamepressure)
- Go to Spire Grove. It is the elevated area above Fairfield on Eden. (Gamepressure)
- Choose a way past the broken elevator. Gamepressure says you can repair it with three Engineering points. If you cannot, that guide describes a longer climb along the southern shore, around the rocks, and up a western slope. Dot Esports describes climbing platforms on the left side of the elevator approach instead. The guides differ on the alternate route, and their accounts do not establish why; use the route you can identify in your game. (Gamepressure; Dot Esports)
- Loot Jackson Plum’s corpse at the summit. The guides identify the body near the platform/building area as the source of the schematics and Plasma Thrusters gadget. (Neoseeker; Gamepressure; Dot Esports)
What to do after finding the gadget
Return to Huell to finish “Perilous Journey to the Grove” if you accepted it. Neoseeker says the recovered schematics are returned to him, and you can share information about the Plasma Thrusters. (Neoseeker)
What the Plasma Thrusters do
Dot Esports describes the gadget as an extra jump with a short hover, useful for reaching some otherwise inaccessible areas. The guide mentions infiltration routes at Vox Relay Station and the Automech Repair Center, but cautions that the gadget will not let you hover across the map or easily reach very high places.
