To learn Celestial Seize in Where Winds Meet, start the Foul Play quest by speaking with Qiu Yuehai at Heaven’s Pier in Moonveil Mountain, Qinghe. Use the quest’s temporary skill prompt to take Hu Wei’s Nullifying Pill—not the nearby money pouch—finish the drinking contest, then return to Qiu Yuehai to receive the permanent Mystic Skill.
How to unlock Celestial Seize
- Go to Heaven’s Pier in Moonveil Mountain, Qinghe. Find Qiu Yuehai beside the stairs and speak with him to begin Foul Play. The route guide reports that it checked the current English references on July 17, 2026; quest names and locations can change with patches.
- Track Foul Play. Follow the quest marker. The quest provides a temporary object-taking interaction, so you do not need to have already learned Celestial Seize to proceed.
- Take Hu Wei’s Nullifying Pill. Target the item named in the current objective. Do not take the money pouch; it does not complete this unlock route. Some older Chinese route material refers to the container as a medicine jar, so follow the live quest objective if you see that older wording.
- Speak with Hu Wei and complete the drinking contest. Continue through the contest sequence.
- Return to Qiu Yuehai. Finish the final conversation to claim the permanent Mystic Skill. The cast used earlier in the quest is temporary.
What if an older guide uses different names?
Older route material may say Shenxian Ferry, use an earlier translation, or show a wine stall. The current Global English route reference uses Heaven’s Pier, Foul Play, and Nullifying Pill. Check the name shown in your active quest tracker if your client’s labels differ. The route reference is an independent guide, not a publisher source, and patch changes may make its labels stale. What Celestial Seize can—and cannot—do
Celestial Seize is a utility skill that can pull eligible objects and disarm eligible enemies. It does not work on every target: a grey skill icon or no contextual Use prompt indicates that the target or current state is not eligible. It is not a universal boss interrupt, and pulling an object does not bypass every lock or quest requirement. The route guide’s mode notes describe these limits; check the live client if an update changes them.
Mode differences
- Solo Mode: Object pulls and disarms of eligible enemies are reported as available.
- Co-op: The guide reports that object pulls are host-only and standard enemy disarms are unavailable. Online use is limited, so do not expect universal player disarm.
These are guide-reported mode rules, not publisher-confirmed specifications, and may change in a patch. If the skill is learned but will not activate, check its unlock state, description, activation requirements, and the mode you are playing. A learned skill may also need to be assigned to an available Mystic Skill slot. The handbook recommends checking those details.

The skill is also used in later routes: the skill index lists it as part of the Golden Body route involving Shi Yi and the Dragon’s Breath route for recovering Travelogue: Toehari. Learning it during Foul Play can therefore help with more than this quest.
