The rooftop “Welcome to Vice City” sign is on Kaseya Center in downtown Miami, but it is not a walk-up attraction: no public roof-access program has been confirmed. For a close, phone-friendly picture, head instead to The Underline’s Vice City soccer court in Brickell or Queen Andrea’s “We ♥ Vice City” mural in Wynwood. For the rooftop letters, plan a skyline view at blue hour or after dark, and arrive early—the evening blue-hour window in Miami lasts only about 9 to 10 minutes.
The sign is a temporary Grand Theft Auto VI marketing display, not a permanent renaming of Miami. Crews lifted its pink lettering and VI emblem onto the arena roof by helicopter on 22 September 2026, ahead of Rockstar’s listed 19 November 2026 release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

What is the Vice City sign in Miami?
It is a temporary Rockstar Games promotion on the roof of Kaseya Center, the Miami HEAT’s downtown arena. The rooftop display reads “Welcome to Vice City” and includes the pink VI emblem associated with GTA VI. VGKami, citing CBS Miami, reports that crews installed the letters by helicopter on 22 September 2026.
That roof installation is only one part of a wider campaign. In October, visitors could also find pink lighting and a cursive Vice City logo on the arena exterior, campaign banners and a colored soccer court at The Underline, and multiple game-related murals in Wynwood. These are temporary marketing pieces, not civic landmarks; street furniture, buses and banners can change or disappear before a planned visit.
Rockstar’s official game page identifies the setting as “Vice City, USA” and lists the game as coming 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The promotion connects the fictional setting to Miami, but the city has not permanently changed its name.

Can you go onto the Kaseya Center roof?
No public rooftop-access program has been confirmed. Treat the letters as a distant skyline subject and photograph them from a permitted public viewpoint, the bay, or—if the approach and conditions happen to line up—from an arriving flight.

Kaseya Center’s official directions identify nearby entrances and drop-off areas, not a way for visitors to reach the roof. All-Access Tours are listed on the venue calendar, but their inclusion of a rooftop view has not been verified. Do not buy a game ticket or tour expecting roof access or a guaranteed sign view.
The arena is on Biscayne Boulevard in downtown Miami. MetroMover’s Park West Station is the walk-up transit stop; the venue directions say to walk east to Biscayne Boulevard and cross to the arena. Event traffic can make nearby sidewalks and entrances busy, so do not block gates, ramps, stairs or pedestrian routes to frame a shot. The venue also notes that fewer adjacent parking lots remain and advises using parking within walking distance.
When is the best time to photograph the rooftop letters?
Blue hour and night are the useful windows: from public ground, the roof letters are too distant for a daylight close-up, while dusk color and the arena’s pink lighting give the skyline more visual separation. Set up before sunset rather than arriving at the moment blue hour begins.
Use the short blue-hour window
Photography Talk’s 2026 Miami timing figures put evening blue hour at about 9 to 10 minutes, ending 23 to 27 minutes after sunset. Its mid-October example for 25.7617, -80.1918 gives a 6:53 PM sunset and a 7:08–7:17 PM blue hour. These are planning figures, not a fixed daily schedule: check the NOAA Solar Calculator for the date of your visit.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIn that same mid-month October calculation, evening golden hour runs 6:23–7:08 PM. Photography Talk says Miami’s evening golden hour lasts 44 to 49 minutes in every month, while sunset times shift substantially over the year—from 5:32 PM in December to 8:14 PM in July. Arriving in the golden-hour period gives you time to settle into a viewpoint before the brief blue-hour interval.

Stay for the night view
After the sky darkens, the lit arena facade and screen can become part of the composition. Portal Viciados photographer @samchrme documented the pink exterior and screen at night in a 6–10 October 2026 photo set. That is a distinct subject from a close view of the rooftop words: think skyline and illuminated building, not a sidewalk selfie.
Park hours matter more than the calendar’s ideal light. Bayfront Park remains open until 11 PM and Margaret Pace Park until 10 PM, so both can accommodate blue hour. South Pointe Park, Haulover Park and Maurice Gibb Memorial Park close at sunset and therefore do not provide an after-sunset blue-hour session under their listed schedules. Confirm current hours before setting out, especially during hurricane season, when coastal parks can close on short notice.
Where can you photograph the rooftop sign from public areas?
There is no published exact sidewalk corner or GPS point established for a close rooftop-letter frame. The following documented viewpoints are practical public options for photographing the downtown skyline; distance, direction and foreground will affect how much of the arena sign is visible. Check the sightline on arrival instead of assuming a park offers a guaranteed unobstructed view.
Bayfront Park: the closest documented park option
Photography Talk places Bayfront Park about 0.8 kilometers from the downtown cluster, with a south-southwest-facing view toward the skyline. Its listed hours are 7 AM to 11 PM, making it the closest documented public park with evening hours near the arena district. Organized photo shoots require a permit, and drones are prohibited there. For a simple personal photo, keep to public areas and do not interfere with other park users.
Margaret Pace Park: a farther south-facing skyline view
The same guide puts Margaret Pace Park 2.8 kilometers from the towers, with a south-facing view at 189 degrees and hours of 7 AM to 10 PM. The longer distance makes it a broader skyline composition; a longer lens can help isolate the arena from surrounding buildings. The guide notes that west-facing areas receive side light from March through September.
Venetian Causeway: a distant, compressed skyline
At the Rivo Alto bridge, Photography Talk gives the skyline distance as 4.1 kilometers and the bearing as 234 degrees, southwest. In November through January, sunset falls about 10 to 20 degrees off that bearing, which can put the towers against the glow. A long lens can visually stack the buildings, but this is a walk-or-bike viewpoint: Florida law bars stopping a vehicle on a bridge, so do not use the roadway or a vehicle stop as a photo position. No hours are posted in the cited guide.

Hobie Beach and South Pointe Park
Hobie Beach looks north-northeast across the water toward the skyline, about 2.6 kilometers away. Photography Talk recommends October through February for warmer front light on tower faces; cars are subject to a toll to reach the area. South Pointe Park offers a westward skyline view, but its listed sunrise-to-sunset schedule rules it out for blue hour. It can still work around sunset; verify current City of Miami Beach park hours before going.

That is not a reason to stop on a road or shoulder. Shut Your Aperture likewise cautions that Rickenbacker Causeway is a transport corridor, not a photography platform; do not treat a bridge shoulder as a place to set up a tripod.
Where can you get a close-up “Welcome to Vice City” photo?
The Underline Urban Gym in Brickell is the clearest walk-up substitute for the rooftop sign. Its banners put the words and VI logos at ground level, so you can frame them without a long-distance skyline view.
The Underline Urban Gym, Brickell
Find the soccer court under the Metrorail tracks on SW 1st Avenue between SW 7th and SW 8th Streets. Portal Viciados gives the map point as 25.767197, -80.195751 and photographed the installation on 24 October 2026. The green fences carry “Welcome to Vice City” banners and palm-tree VI logos; the court itself has a pink-and-blue floor.
Go after dark for the documented look. Portal Viciados reports that the court lights and colorful Metrorail pillars make the scene especially evocative at night. This is a free outdoor exercise space, not a controlled photo set, so expect people using the court and be considerate about where you stand. The banners are a campaign installation with no confirmed removal date in the available public information; check locally rather than assuming they will remain.

Queen Andrea’s “We ♥ Vice City” mural, Wynwood
For a phone-friendly street-level lettering shot, go to 400 NW 26th Street in Wynwood. TechWiser reported the mural on 5 October 2026, and Portal Viciados documented Queen Andrea painting it from 6–13 October. The large “We Love Vice City” lettering is on a neighborhood wall, not behind the Wynwood Walls museum ticket gate.
Morning is the practical choice if you want fewer people and less sidewalk activity in the frame. Wynwood’s neighborhood murals are outside the museum’s posted hours, but the exact appearance and access conditions can change; the partnership murals are reported to remain on view through 1 January 2027, not indefinitely.
Other Wynwood campaign murals
The partnership comprises ten murals. Vice Atlas reports that Tristan Eaton’s work is on the Wynwood Walls campus and the other nine are on neighborhood walls, with the partnership display scheduled through 1 January 2027. Artists named for the project include ATOMIK, Tatiana Suarez, Askew One, DENIAL, FAILE, Gons and Audet, Lady AIKO, Queen Andrea, Ron English and Tristan Eaton.
- ATOMIK’s orange “Vice Dale County” mural was reported at 2238 NW 1st Place by Portal Viciados on 25 October 2026.
- Ron English’s “Good Idea” mural is identified at map point 25.802404, -80.202064.
- Tatiana Suarez’s mural is identified at map point 25.800089, -80.202225.
These locations are useful leads, not a guarantee that a temporary wall will still be present when you arrive. Confirm the specific mural on the day, particularly if you are making a special trip.

Is Wynwood Walls worth adding to the photo route?
Yes, if you want the campaign’s artist work in a museum setting as well as street murals. Wynwood Walls is a ticketed campus at 2516 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33127; it is separate from the public street walls around Wynwood.
The official hours page lists 10:30 AM–6:30 PM, with doors closing 30 minutes before closing. The GTA VI mural by Tristan Eaton is on campus. Vice Atlas reports adult admission of $12 for visitors who are not Miami-Dade residents, while Miami-Dade residents with photo ID showing a county address can receive free admission through 2028 via a free digital membership; children under 12 are always free. Check the venue’s current ticket and entry terms before visiting.
Wynwood Garage, at 311 NW 26th Street, is covered and open 24/7. Wynwood Walls lists rates of roughly $20–$40 depending on length of stay, with higher rates on event days; street parking is metered. Those figures are not a guarantee of a space or a fixed rate, so check posted terms at the garage. In the wider South Beach area, Edin Chavez’s 2026 guide says metered parking is enforced from 9 AM to 3 AM, seven days a week.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can you photograph the sign from a flight or inside Kaseya Center?
Both can offer campaign-related views, but neither is a dependable public rooftop-photo plan. VGKami, citing CBS Miami, reports that some arriving flights at Miami International Airport may pass where the roof is visible; the view depends on the approach, weather and seat position. Do not book a flight or expect a particular approach solely for this photograph.
Inside Kaseya Center, Portal Viciados photographed an “I ♥ VICE CITY” pink wall, Burger Shot and Cluckin’ Bell concession branding, and elevator doors wrapped for Vice City FM and Macca & Friends during a HEAT game on 21 October 2026. That interior is an event setting, not a street-side view of the roof. A game ticket or tour may provide access to event areas, but no rooftop inclusion is confirmed.
The venue calendar lists Milwaukee Bucks vs. Miami HEAT on 18 November 2026 at 7:00 PM. VGKami and TechWiser report Vice City theming for that “A Night In Vice City” game, including a themed court and reimagined uniforms; the official venue calendar confirms the game and time but its event tile does not itself name the theme. Anyone planning travel around the special presentation should check the HEAT’s current event information before booking.

What should you bring, and how do you avoid a wasted shoot?
The rooftop is a distant, stationary night subject; gear should help with reach and stability rather than promise a particular result. A travel tripod can reduce camera movement during longer exposures, while a long zoom can help separate the arena roof from foreground buildings at distant viewpoints. Shut Your Aperture recommends a stable camera, timer or remote release, and a test frame for stationary skyline night scenes. There is no single exposure recipe that fits every viewpoint and light level.
- For the rooftop: bring a long lens if you have one, and a tripod if you plan to make long exposures. Compose a wider skyline frame too, because the sign may be small at public viewpoints.
- For water and glass: a circular polarizer can reduce reflections; Photography Talk also lists variable ND filters for slow bay exposures. These are optional tools, not requirements for a successful visit.
- For changing weather: Miami’s afternoon showers can arrive quickly, so weather-sealed gear helps. After leaving air conditioning, allow a cold lens time to acclimate to humid outdoor air to reduce fogging.
- For a phone: favor The Underline or the Wynwood mural when the goal is readable lettering. The rooftop is farther away and better suited to a skyline composition.
Do not plan a shot around a bridge shoulder, restricted arena area or drone flight. Bayfront Park bans drones, and the documented rooftop access information does not establish that roof entry is available to visitors. For organized photography at Bayfront Park, arrange the required permit.

The installations have different schedules, and none should be treated as permanent. The rooftop agreement is reported to cover the later of one year after installation or the final 2026–27 HEAT home game; with installation on 22 September 2026 and the final home game listed as 11 April 2027, that points to roughly 22 September 2027 under the reported terms. It is a reported schedule, not a guarantee against an earlier change or proof of an extension.
Vice Atlas reports the ten Wynwood partnership murals will be on show until 1 January 2027. The Underline banners, buses, beach furniture and other street campaign pieces have no common published end date in the available information, and the campaign has been reported as moving quickly. Check the relevant venue or local listing shortly before traveling.
How should you plan a Miami photo day around the campaign?
Choose the location by the image you want, not by trying to force every installation into one lighting window. The rooftop needs a skyline viewpoint and a sunset-to-night schedule; walk-up lettering is easier to photograph at ground level and on its own timetable.
- For the rooftop, choose a park or public bay-side view. Bayfront Park is the closest documented park option with evening hours; Margaret Pace Park is farther away. Check the exact park hours and sunset time for your date.
- Arrive before sunset. Set up before the short blue-hour interval begins, then stay for the pink-lit facade after dark if the park remains open.
- Schedule The Underline after dark. The colored court and pillars are the documented night look, and the court is accessible at ground level.
- Visit Wynwood in the morning. Photograph neighborhood walls before sidewalks fill, then enter Wynwood Walls only during its posted visiting hours if the campus mural is on your list.
- Check every temporary stop again on the day. Confirm park closures, venue details and whether a particular banner or mural is still present. Hurricane-season weather can also affect coastal access.
If you want the separate 1980s television-series aesthetic rather than the GTA VI campaign, Ocean Drive is a complementary subject, not another Vice City sign. Nomado Travel recommends going before 8 AM for quieter streets and warm light on the pale Art Deco facades; after dark, the avenue’s neon becomes a different night-photography scene.

Is Miami actually called Vice City now?
No. “Vice City” is the fictional setting named by Rockstar for Grand Theft Auto VI, and the rooftop display is a temporary promotion. The Miami sign does not announce a permanent city-name change.
Does GTA 6 include a neighborhood based on Wynwood Walls?
Wynwood Walls has said the game features an area inspired by the arts campus called Stockyard within Vice City. The real-world mural partnership places game-connected art both on the campus and on walls around Wynwood.
Will the Vice City campaign still be around after the game launches?
Some pieces have reported end dates that extend beyond the listed 19 November 2026 launch, while other street installations have no shared published schedule. A launch date is not a promise that every banner, mural or vehicle will remain in place.
Is the Kaseya Center rooftop display visible from every arriving flight?
No. Reports describe it as visible from some Miami International Airport arrivals, but the aircraft’s route, weather and the passenger’s seat affect whether the roof is in view. It is an incidental possibility, not a guaranteed aerial photo opportunity.
