Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Both abilities come from the same Terra Resonance quest. Float is unlocked first, at the Hero’s Herb in the Ancient City of Vill, and Phantom Dash follows at a Wind Core on a floating island reached by wind tunnels north of the Asterleeds gate. Guide sites report that the character needs to be level 17 to use both abilities, and that they may have to be placed on the action bar manually.
Where the quest starts
Keep progressing the Main Story. Guide sites Prydwen and TheGameSlayer (both published or updated between 2025 and January 2026) report that an orange “Terra Resonance” quest is offered by Airona in Asterleeds once the Main Story reaches a certain point. TheGameSlayer names the dialogue option that starts it as “New Talents, New Trials.” If Airona does not show the quest, check the Main Story objective list first, because the quest is gated by story progress rather than by a side-quest trigger.
Unlocking Float at the Hero’s Herb
Track the Terra Resonance objective to Asteria Plains. TheGameSlayer recommends using Cliff Ruins as the nearest waypoint, then travelling west toward the Ancient City of Vill. Prydwen places the Hero’s Herb west of the Asterleeds gate, inside the Ancient City of Vill. Both descriptions point to the same large blue object. Interact with it (resonate with it) to unlock Float.
Float is used while airborne in an air current. It does not work as a ground movement skill, so you will need an updraft or wind source nearby to make use of it.

Unlocking Phantom Dash at the Wind Core
Phantom Dash is the second step of the same questline. From the Hero’s Herb, head north toward the elevated island route. Prydwen says to use a wind tunnel just south of the Hero’s Herb to reach a floating island inside a spire north of the Asterleeds gate. TheGameSlayer describes a route through Andra Resting Spot, then riding a series of circular wind tunnels upward until you reach a Wind Resonance. PCGamesN describes the same target as a concentrated wind orb and notes a barrier encounter at the peak. Resonate with the Wind Core to unlock Phantom Dash.
Phantom Dash is the ground-based counterpart to Float. Once unlocked, it is used from the ground and assigned to a button, as described in the next section.

| Ability | Unlock point | Route from the quest | Where it is used |
|---|---|---|---|
| Float | Hero’s Herb, Ancient City of Vill (west of the Asterleeds gate) | Asteria Plains, then west from Cliff Ruins | Airborne, in an air current |
| Phantom Dash | Wind Core (called Wind Resonance by one guide), on a floating island in a spire north of the Asterleeds gate | From the Hero’s Herb, south wind tunnel, then north through circular wind tunnels | On the ground, from a button |
Putting the abilities on your action bar
If the skill prompts do not appear after you resonate with each object, assign the abilities manually. Guide sites describe this procedure, but menu labels may differ by version:
- Open the Skill menu.
- Select the Resonance icon or tab.
- Drag Float and Phantom Dash onto the hotbar or action bar.
- Confirm that both icons appear before you head into the wind tunnels, so you can test them in the air.
Level requirement
Prydwen states that the character must be level 17 to use the abilities. TheGameSlayer says the Float unlock requires level 17, and PCGamesN places the Terra Resonance quest at around level 17. Because the three guides differ slightly in what they attach the level to, treat level 17 as the threshold to aim for, and check the in-game requirement text on the skill itself if it differs.

Where guides disagree and what may have changed
Guide sites use different names for the same objects. TheGameSlayer uses “Hero’s Herb” and “Wind Resonance,” Prydwen uses “Hero’s Herb” and “Wind Core,” and PCGamesN uses “Hero’s Flower” and “concentrated wind orb.” Matching locations and quest order suggest they describe the same objects, but the in-game marker and prompt text are the reliable guide if a name does not match what you see.
These pages are guide sites, not official game documentation, and the most recent of them were published or updated in January 2026. Patches after that date may have moved objects, changed the level threshold, or altered menu labels. If the route described here does not match your game, follow the in-game quest marker and use the map to reach the highlighted location.
