It is a strong option, not a universal best: rankings differ by mode and source, and the rotation can lose damage when a boss moves.
Recommended weapons and the build’s strengths
Use Strategic Sword and Heavenquaker Spear together. The current build planner identifies this pairing as Bellstrike – Umbra, though the game also lets players pair weapon martial arts outside named paths. The build is designed around stacking effects and cashing them in, rather than delivering steady damage with a simple repeated attack.

“Best” depends on the activity and evaluator. In Version 2.2 comparisons, NPC Waifu rates the build B for real-boss PvE damage, citing the need to maintain several buffs and damage loss when bosses move. Game8 rates it A in PvE and PvP, while OnKamii places it T1 in high-rank 1v1 PvP. These are separate guide ratings, not an official game tier list. How to run the rotation
- Apply Bleeding with Strategic Sword. Use the first two stages of Inner Track Slash; the guide says they apply five Bleeding stacks.
- Set up Soul-Shaken with Heavenquaker Spear. Use Sober Sorrow for its buff, then a charged Drifting Thrust to apply Soul-Shaken, which increases damage over time.
- Return to Strategic Sword for the burst. Use Inner Balance Strike III to consume the Bleeding stacks. With Sword Horizon equipped, follow the timed prompt with Crosswind Blade to deal High Bleeding and trigger Blood Burst.
Under the Version 2.0 change, Soul-Shaken’s full damage-over-time vulnerability bonus applies only to damage from Strategic Sword or Heavenquaker Spear. Keep the payoff within those paired weapons rather than assuming every source of damage receives the full bonus. Rotation and Soul-Shaken details

Stats, weapons, and armor
Stat priority differs between guides, partly because their update dates and game versions differ. Affinity Rate appears near the top of all three lists, but the sources do not agree on a single fixed order.

Hawkwing is the consistent recommendation for the weapon and accessory set. Armor is less settled: Game8 suggests Flawless Defense or Eaglerise depending on available rolls, while two older guides recommend Eaglerise. The comparison says Version 2.1 fixed a blink bug caused by canceling a charged heavy attack; its Version 2.2 notes do not mention this path. Since build details can change with balance updates, check the current patch before investing heavily in a setup. Version changes and update notes

One post-Version 2.2 test by Enilvhel, dated September 28, 2026, recorded 3,901K damage over 60 seconds—about 65,029 damage per second—against a level 96 Sword Trial Boss. In that test, Blood Burst accounted for 62.2% of damage, followed by Smolder at 9.8%, Bleeding at 7.6%, and Inner Balance Strike III at 4.1%.
