Where Winds Meet riddles are reported as word-guessing conversations with NPCs, not a dedicated map collectible. Guides list different characters, locations, and clue answers, so treat the indexes below as leads rather than a verified complete roster. Check the NPC, entry requirements, and exact clue shown in your game before starting.
How the riddle mini-game works
Third-party guides describe an NPC conversation in which you enter a question or answer through a chat-style interface. One guide reports a timer, limited turns, Intelligence thresholds of 20, 40, or 60, and entry fees of 20, 40, or 60 Commerce Coins. These details are not confirmed by an official rules page, and requirements may depend on the encounter or game version. Read the prompt and confirm the displayed cost and requirements before you begin.

The official interactive map is an exploration companion, but its accessible page does not provide a riddle-specific roster. Game8 describes filtering its map by region or subregion and searching pins; its guide was updated April 1, 2026, and says location details were still being added. Use either map to orient yourself, not as proof that every riddle NPC is marked.
Reported riddle NPC locations
The location lists published by guides conflict. The August 8, 2026 CloudsPress guide supplies one detailed Kaifeng-area list, but labels it 13 NPCs while listing 14 entries. It also gives a separate, alternative roster with different placements and conditional encounters. Game8 and the older November 22, 2025 AllThingsHow guide add further location leads without resolving those discrepancies. The following table preserves the reported lists rather than merging them into a supposedly definitive map.
#1 Best Overall
- 1. Authentic Where Wind Meets Character Design – Features official art of protagonist Jiang Yan from the Where Wind Meets(Yanyun Sixteen Sounds), capturing his iconic facial features, hairstyle, and emotional expressions with precise, game-accurate detail for true fan appeal.
- 2. Stunning 58mm Holographic Laser Finish – Crafted with 58mm premium holographic film that creates a dynamic iridescent color shift (deep blue to silvery white) under different light angles, far more eye-catching than standard flat badges.
- 3. Durable & Long-Lasting Construction – Built with a sturdy metal casing and scratch-resistant protective film to resist fading, bending, and daily wear; ideal for long-term collection or attaching to bags, clothing, and display boards.
- 4. Immersive Wuxia Themed Aesthetic – Matches the dark martial arts vibe of Where Winds Meet with moody navy/black/green color palettes and game-inspired background elements, delivering a cohesive visual experience that embodies the game’s unique world.
- 5. Perfect Collectible Size for Fans – The 58mm standard badge size is easy to store in binders, display on shelves, or trade with fellow Where Winds Meet collectors, making it a must-have addition to any Jiang Yan or Yanyun Sixteen Sounds merchandise set.

Alternative placements and conditional encounters
| NPC or group | Reported location or condition |
|---|---|
| Zhang Jiu and Kutuluk | Granary of Plenty |
| Shi Lei, Li Rouzhu, and Peng Shizhi | Jadewood Court |
| Tao Xiaoxiao, Wang Xiaosan, and Chan Yi | Kaifeng City |
| He Qiu | Kaifeng’s Western Gate; reported at sunrise after interacting with a map table and following the dialogue |
| Madam Qiao | Riverside Teahouse; reported at night after sitting first |
| Monastery Bell NPC | Reported in clear weather after bowing first; a personal name is not stated in the source |
| Scholar Liu Wen | Steps of Kaifeng Examination Hall; reported in the evening with a particular exam or dialogue state |
| Scholar Shen | Qingxi Canal in Jiangnan; reported in late afternoon after a dialogue trigger |
Game8 separately places Wang Xiaosan at the Fairgrounds in Kaifeng City and Kutuluk on the path from Wheatwind Bazaar toward Masterwood Hamlet. These are additional guide-reported leads, not confirmation that the conflicting entries above refer to the same current placements.
How to use the location leads
- Search the region or subarea named in the list, then verify the NPC’s displayed name and interaction prompt in your client.
- If an NPC is absent, try the reported time, weather, seating, bowing, map-table, or dialogue conditions only where a guide names one.
- Check the official map for general orientation, but do not assume that it contains a complete riddle layer.
Reported clue answers
The answers below are guide-reported English entries, not guaranteed solutions for every localization or version. Start with the answer that best matches the exact clue text on screen. Where guides disagree, the alternatives are shown rather than treated as interchangeable certainties.

|---|---|---|
| Storage | Box | Another list gives “granary.” |

| Game | Football | |
| Dark spots | Leopard | Player-reported answer; “cheetah” is another reported possibility, not a main-list entry. |
| Home | Dog | Player-reported answer, not a main-list entry. |
If an answer is rejected, compare the exact clue wording and the language used by your game with the alternatives. The disagreement may be a localization or guide-list difference; the available sources do not establish one universal answer for every variant.
