- Platform scope: It counts Steam users only. A Dexerto report dated October 2, 2026 notes that Steam figures do not include PlayStation or Xbox players.
- Title scope: The Call of Duty listing on Steam is an aggregated entry. It does not separate activity for Black Ops 7, Warzone, or earlier releases.
- Time scope: The figure is a snapshot. Current players and daily peaks change through the day and from week to week.
- Metric: These are concurrent players, the number online at one moment. They are not monthly active users or total owners.

Why no game-by-game ranking exists
Official sources explain how Call of Duty works, but they do not publish player populations for each title. Activision’s September 2026 report discusses Black Ops 7 and Warzone together. It compares disruptive voice behavior in similar Black Ops 6 and Warzone periods, and it contains no player ranking.
Crossplay adds another layer. Activision’s support documentation describes crossplay and progression for supported titles. Crossplay may let players on different platforms share matchmaking, but a shared matchmaking pool does not produce a combined player count that anyone publishes. Steam’s number therefore cannot be read as a cross-platform total.

Which Call of Duty titles are currently active
Current official materials list the following as active offerings. Being listed as active does not mean one title has more players than another.
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 7: Named in Activision’s current product context as a supported part of the Call of Duty experience.
- Warzone: Named in the same official context. The official Xbox Store listing describes it as free to play.
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: Activision support documents its crossplay and progression with Warzone.
How to check current numbers yourself
- Open the Call of Duty listing on Steam and note the current player figure, the peak figure, and the time you checked.
- Open SteamCharts for the same app. Note the date range and confirm that it covers Steam only.
- Record the platform, the measure (current, peak, or average), and the date with every number you save.
- Compare only figures that use the same measure and platform. A Steam peak and a Steam current count are not interchangeable.
- Check the store listing for the console or PC storefront you play on for availability information. Those listings do not publish comparable player counts for this question.
- Recheck the live Steam chart before you quote a number, since it changes often.

- Platform availability: Which titles run on the platform you own.
- Crossplay and matchmaking pool: Whether you can queue with players on other platforms for the mode you want.
- Mode and time of day: Population differs by mode and by when you play, so check the mode you intend to join.
- Measure: Whether a figure reports current concurrency or a broader active-user count.
The sources available do not provide like-for-like figures across these points, so titles should not be ranked by population on this basis.
