Choose Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection if you want the historical arcade run of Street Fighter I, the major Street Fighter II releases, Alpha 1–3, or Street Fighter III—especially Alpha 3 and 3rd Strike. Choose Capcom Fighting Collection if you want Darkstalkers, Red Earth, Cyberbots, Puzzle Fighter, Gem Fighter, or rollback online play across the entire included lineup. The collections overlap only partially: one is a twelve-game Street Fighter archive, while the other is a ten-game cross-series anthology.

| Capcom Fighting Collection | Darkstalkers, Red Earth, Puzzle Fighter, Cyberbots, and online play in every included game | 10 games; rollback-supported online play in all 10; training in 9 | PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Steam | Oct 2026 |
| Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection | Street Fighter arcade history, Alpha 3, and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike | 12 games; online play and training in 4; local Versus in all 12 | PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Steam | Oct 2026 |
Capcom announced both collections for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and Steam. On PlayStation, the US listings describe PS5 playback of the PS4 editions but warn that some PS4 features may be absent; treat that as a platform-listing qualification rather than a promise that every feature is identical on PS5.
Which collection has the games you actually want?
The game lists are the most important difference. Street Fighter 30th concentrates on successive arcade releases in one franchise. Capcom Fighting Collection mixes several fighting games, two puzzle/party-style fighters, and previously difficult-to-access arcade material.

Capcom Fighting Collection’s 10 games
Capcom’s announcement lists these ten titles:
- Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors
- Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge
- Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire
- Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers’ Revenge
- Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire
- Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition
- Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
- Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix
- Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness
- Red Earth
See Capcom’s full announcement for the lineup and feature description: Capcom Fighting Collection throws down with a 10-game anthology. Capcom identifies Vampire Hunter 2 and Vampire Savior 2 as Japanese-version-only entries. Red Earth is particularly notable because this collection marks its first home-console port.
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection’s 12 games
The Street Fighter archive contains:
- Street Fighter
- Street Fighter II
- Street Fighter II: Champion Edition
- Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting
- Super Street Fighter II
- Super Street Fighter II Turbo
- Street Fighter Alpha
- Street Fighter Alpha 2
- Street Fighter Alpha 3
- Street Fighter III
- Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact
- Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
The collection preserves individual successive arcade releases. It does not use the same Street Fighter II selection as Capcom Fighting Collection: the latter names Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition, while 30th Anniversary lists the separate Street Fighter II, Champion Edition, Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo releases.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteWhich one has 3rd Strike?
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection has Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, along with the original Street Fighter III and 2nd Impact. It also includes all three Alpha games, including Street Fighter Alpha 3. Those are the decisive reasons to choose 30th Anniversary for a Street Fighter III or Alpha-focused purchase.
Online play and training are available in four 30th Anniversary games: Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. Capcom’s mode details are documented in its announcement about the collection’s Training and Versus additions: Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection Training and Versus Mode details.
Does Capcom Fighting Collection have the Alpha games?
No. Capcom Fighting Collection contains no Street Fighter Alpha title and no Street Fighter III title. Its Street Fighter representation is Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition; the rest of the fighting-game lineup is built around Darkstalkers, Cyberbots, and Red Earth.
That makes the choice straightforward: buy 30th Anniversary for Alpha 1, 2, or 3, and buy Capcom Fighting Collection for Darkstalkers-era mechanics, Red Earth, or its broader online coverage. Owning both is sensible for players who want both archives, but the games are not duplicates with different menus.

Which collection has Darkstalkers, Red Earth, and Puzzle Fighter?
All of those games are in Capcom Fighting Collection. The set includes five Darkstalkers/Vampire releases, Red Earth, Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, and Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix.
Darkstalkers and the Japanese-version entries
The anthology includes the original Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors, Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge, and Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire, plus Vampire Hunter 2 and Vampire Savior 2. Capcom labels the last two Japanese-version-only entries, so do not assume they are alternate localized releases with the same regional presentation as the other games.
Red Earth and Cyberbots
Red Earth combines fighting-game battles with a progression-oriented arcade structure and had not previously received a home-console port. Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness supplies a separate robot-fighting style that is absent from 30th Anniversary.
Puzzle Fighter and Gem Fighter
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo is the collection’s puzzle game, while Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix is a compact, humor-focused fighter. Their presence broadens Capcom Fighting Collection beyond a conventional fighting-game anthology. Puzzle Fighter is also the one title without a training mode.

Capcom Fighting Collection has rollback-supported online play in all ten games. Street Fighter 30th Anniversary has online play in exactly four of its twelve games. Neither statement is a measured latency result, and the published material does not establish active-player populations or cross-play.
| Collection | Online coverage | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| Capcom Fighting Collection | All 10 games, with rollback-supported online play | You can take each included title online, including Darkstalkers, Red Earth, Cyberbots, Puzzle Fighter, and Gem Fighter. |
| Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection | 4 games: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Alpha 3, and 3rd Strike | The other eight titles remain playable locally and in their archival modes, but are not among the collection’s online-enabled games. |
Rollback netcode is a feature description supplied by Capcom, not a guarantee of a particular connection quality in every match. Your region, platform, network, and opponent still affect the experience.

How do training and local multiplayer differ?
Capcom Fighting Collection offers training in nine of its ten games, while Street Fighter 30th offers training in its four online-enabled games and local Versus mode in all twelve.
Capcom Fighting Collection
- Training mode is included in nine games.
- Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo is the exception.
- All ten games support online play, so the training-enabled fighters can be practiced before matchmaking.
Capcom described the training feature as being included for “nearly every game,” with Puzzle Fighter as the exception. The collection also includes quick save and display-filter options, useful when treating the package as an arcade-history archive rather than only an online game.
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection
- Training is available in Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Alpha 3, and 3rd Strike.
- Local Versus mode is available across all twelve games.
- Training and Versus were added through a day-one patch that requires an internet download.
That patch requirement matters most for an unpatched physical copy. The original arcade releases and museum content are not the same thing as the later Training and Versus additions, so install the update before judging the local-play options on a disc or cartridge.
What museum, display, and accessibility features are included?
Both collections add historical material, but their documented conveniences are not identical.
Capcom Fighting Collection features
- More than 500 museum art pieces, according to Capcom’s 2022 feature description.
- More than 400 music tracks.
- Quick save and display filters.
- One-button special-move options.
- A color-blind gem-texture option for Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo.
- Viewable hitboxes outside Puzzle Fighter.
The color-blind option is specific to Puzzle Fighter’s gem textures; it should not be read as a collection-wide accessibility setting. Likewise, viewable hitboxes are documented as being available outside that game, not as a promise that every title exposes identical analysis tools.
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary features
The PlayStation description presents a museum with a franchise timeline, character material, and development documents. The collection’s central convenience is preservation of the individual arcade releases, with local Versus across the full set and online/training support concentrated in four games. It does not have the same published training coverage or feature list as Capcom Fighting Collection.

Which platform should you choose?
Both collections were announced for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. Choose the platform where you already have the controller, friends, and online subscription you intend to use; the game lists themselves do not change that basic platform decision.
PlayStation and PS5
The cited US PlayStation listings describe PS5 playback of the PS4 editions and warn that some PS4 features may be absent. PlayStation Plus is required for online play on those US PlayStation pages. Confirm the requirement and feature compatibility for your account region before buying.
Xbox One and Windows PC
Xbox One is an announced platform for both collections. The supplied material does not establish a current cross-play policy or a comparable online-subscription requirement for every platform, so do not infer that a match made on Steam can automatically play against a console user.
Nintendo Switch
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary has a Switch-exclusive recreation of Super Street Fighter II: The Tournament Battle. Capcom describes the original format as four linked cabinets supporting an eight-player tournament. Treat this as a platform-specific recreation, not as a thirteenth standard game added to the twelve-game count.

For PC, Steam’s requirements recommend an XInput-compatible controller. An XInput pad or compatible arcade stick is optional rather than a separate requirement for the collection itself.

Both collections have documented physical editions, but availability is retailer-, platform-, and region-dependent. Capcom documented physical copies of Capcom Fighting Collection and physical preorders for Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. Before paying, verify the exact platform, seller, region, edition, and whether the listing is a cartridge/disc or a download code.

A physical Street Fighter 30th copy should be connected to the internet for the day-one Training and Versus patch. If you plan to play entirely offline, check which modes are present on the installed version rather than assuming every later feature is on the original media.
Is the Capcom Fighting Bundle still available?
Do not assume that the historical two-collection offer is still sold. Xbox Wire described a 22-game Capcom Fighting Bundle in 2022, but that was a launch-era offer; the current US PlayStation page instead displays a Capcom Fighting Collection 1 + 2 Bundle, which is a different product. Check the live store page for your platform and region before treating any bundle name or game count as current.
The 22-game figure is therefore historical, not a promise of a current package. Buying both individual collections remains the clearest way to obtain the two lineups when both are available separately.
Which collection should each type of player buy?
Choose Street Fighter 30th Anniversary if you:
- Want Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, 2nd Impact, or the original Street Fighter III.
- Want the complete Alpha trilogy, especially Alpha 3.
- Prefer a chronological Street Fighter arcade archive over a mixed Capcom anthology.
- Need local Versus across every included game.
- Want the Switch-only Tournament Battle recreation.
Choose Capcom Fighting Collection if you:
- Want any Darkstalkers/Vampire game, including the Japanese-version-only entries.
- Want the first home-console release of Red Earth.
- Want Cyberbots, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, or Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix.
- Want rollback-supported online play in every included title.
- Want training in nearly every game, plus the collection’s documented filters, quick save, hitbox viewing, and Puzzle Fighter color-blind gem option.
Consider both if:
You want the complete set of lineups rather than a single franchise archive. There is enough overlap in Capcom’s fighting-game history to make both useful, but not enough duplication for one collection to replace the other.
What should you check before buying?
- Circle the must-have games. If the list includes 3rd Strike or any Alpha game, select Street Fighter 30th. If it includes Darkstalkers, Red Earth, Cyberbots, Puzzle Fighter, or Gem Fighter, select Capcom Fighting Collection.
- Check online coverage. Capcom Fighting Collection covers all ten games online; 30th Anniversary covers four. Do not buy the latter expecting every arcade entry to support matchmaking.
- Confirm training needs. Puzzle Fighter has no training mode in Capcom Fighting Collection. In 30th Anniversary, training is limited to the four online-enabled games.
- Verify your platform’s subscription rule. PlayStation’s US listings require PlayStation Plus for online play. Requirements and storefront policies can differ elsewhere.
- Check update and storage conditions. The 30th Anniversary Training and Versus additions came through a day-one download, which matters for an unpatched physical copy.
- Verify the edition and region. Japanese-version-only entries, PS5 feature caveats, physical stock, and bundle contents all require checking the actual listing you are about to purchase.
How we picked
This comparison ranks the collections by the decisions that change a purchase: included games first, then online coverage, training and local modes, platform-specific extras, preservation features, and physical-format considerations. The counts and feature descriptions come from Capcom’s published announcements and platform information; no independent latency, population, or performance ranking is implied.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do these collections support cross-play between console and PC?
The cited product information does not establish cross-play for either collection. Online availability within a game is not the same as cross-platform matchmaking, so check the current platform listing or support page for your specific version.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Are Vampire Hunter 2 and Vampire Savior 2 separate localized releases?
Capcom identifies both as Japanese-version-only entries. That describes the versions included in the anthology; it does not establish that they received a separate English localization or regional balance pass.
What kind of controller does the PC version expect?
Steam’s requirements recommend an XInput-compatible controller for Capcom Fighting Collection. A keyboard may be supported by the game, but the supplied specifications specifically call out XInput compatibility rather than a particular controller model.
Can I play the 30th Anniversary collection’s arcade modes without downloading anything?
The collection’s Training and Versus additions were delivered in a day-one patch, so an unpatched physical copy may not contain those modes. Install the update before relying on the advertised local and practice features.
