What happened to FIFA 22?
Electronic Arts’ Online Services Shutdown — A–H archive states: “FIFA 22 online services and features will be retired on November 4, 2024.” That is EA’s listed retirement date; it has passed.

A May 24, 2026 article by the Position is Everything Team, “Yet Another EA Game is Shutting Down in November 2024,” describes FIFA Ultimate Team, online matchmaking, VOLTA, Pro Clubs, and other connected features as affected. That list is secondary reporting, not a detailed list in EA’s announcement.

In practical terms, a feature that depends on EA’s online services may no longer work as it did before retirement. The available EA entry does not establish the status of each mode, so check EA or your platform’s support information for a specific feature and platform.
Can you still play FIFA 22 offline?
The Position is Everything article expects some offline modes to remain playable, but EA’s archive does not guarantee offline availability. What works can depend on platform, installation, and the individual mode. Do not assume that owning a disc or digital copy restores online features.

The cited announcement also does not state whether players can still download or reinstall the game, retain saves, unlock achievements, or receive refunds for purchases. Those questions require the relevant EA or platform support terms for your account and platform.
Does buying FIFA 22 restore its online features?
No purchase can reverse the retirement of EA’s online services. A physical copy may provide access to the game software, subject to platform requirements and availability, but it does not bring back retired online features. Current prices, stock, platform compatibility, and download access are not established by the cited sources.
