That list is specific: it does not establish that every Rock Band or Guitar Hero guitar works, and it may not reflect later changes to compatibility.
Which guitar controllers work in Fortnite Festival?
Epic’s Season 3 announcement named these controller models for Pro Lead and Pro Bass song parts on the Main Stage:
- PlayStation PDP Riffmaster
- PlayStation 4 Rock Band 4 Jaguar
- PlayStation 4 Rock Band 4 Stratocaster
- Xbox PDP Riffmaster
- Xbox One Rock Band 4 Jaguar
- Xbox One Rock Band 4 Stratocaster
Epic mapped the PlayStation models to PS5 and PS4, and the Xbox models to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. These are the models named in Epic’s April 23, 2024 announcement; the announcement is not a guarantee that this is the complete or current list.
Does the PDP Riffmaster work with Fortnite Festival?
Yes. PDP/Turtle Beach lists separate Riffmaster versions for Xbox and PlayStation, and Epic’s announcement includes both. Choose the version for your platform:
| Riffmaster version | Platforms stated by manufacturer | Fortnite Festival guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Xbox | Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10 and Windows 11 | Epic listed the Xbox Riffmaster for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. PDP/Turtle Beach lists Fortnite Festival and Rock Band 4 compatibility on its Xbox Riffmaster page. |
| PlayStation | PS5 and PS4 | Epic listed the PlayStation Riffmaster for PS5 and PS4. PlayStation Direct lists Fortnite Festival and Rock Band 4 compatibility on its PlayStation Riffmaster page. |
The cited sources do not establish the PlayStation Riffmaster as a supported PC option. For PC, the documented Riffmaster choice is the Xbox version.
Can you use a Rock Band 4 guitar on PC?
Epic’s 2024 announcement listed the Xbox Riffmaster for PC. It also listed Xbox One Rock Band 4 Jaguar and Stratocaster guitars for PC when used with the Microsoft Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows 10. That is an older, specific setup note—not a general recommendation for adapters or proof of compatibility with every current Windows configuration. Check current device and operating-system support before relying on it.

The support Epic announced is for playing Pro Lead and Pro Bass song parts on the Main Stage. It is not a claim that these guitars work for every Festival mode or that unrelated rhythm-game controllers are compatible.

Epic also said in its April 2024 announcement that the whammy bar provided a visual effect only: it did not add audio distortion or extra Overdrive energy. Treat that as a description of behavior at the time of the announcement, not confirmation of how the feature works now.
