Kingdom Hearts is no longer sold on the original Nintendo Switch. The only versions ever offered there were cloud-streamed, Square Enix stopped selling them at 14:59 UTC on June 9, 2026, and existing owners keep access until 14:59 UTC on June 9, 2027. The first native release for the console family is the KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] for Nintendo Switch 2, scheduled for October 8, 2026. It will not run on the original Switch.
Check which Switch you own first
“Nintendo Switch” is used for two different consoles, and the Kingdom Hearts answer differs for each.

Original Nintendo Switch: the cloud versions
Four cloud products were released for the original Switch:
- KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX – Cloud Version
- KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue Cloud Version
- KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind (DLC) – Cloud Version
- KINGDOM HEARTS INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE for Cloud, an all-in-one bundle that includes the three collections above
Nintendo’s product page for the INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE cloud bundle states: “THIS GAME REQUIRES INTERNET CONNECTION TO PLAY. PLEASE TRY OUT THE FREE DEMO BEFORE PURCHASE.” Because these are streamed rather than installed, a reliable connection is part of the experience. Try the free demo before buying if you are unsure the stream will hold up on your network.

Sales and service dates
- Sales ended: 14:59 UTC, Tuesday, June 9, 2026, according to Square Enix Support Centre’s notice of that date, which says the Nintendo Switch cloud versions in the series “were discontinued from sale.”
- Owner service ends: 14:59 UTC, June 9, 2027, for existing owners.
If you do not already own one of these cloud products, the official Switch storefront is no longer a purchase path for them.
Nintendo Switch 2: the native collection
KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 8, 2026. Nintendo lists a digital edition, and Square Enix lists physical Switch 2 editions as well. The sources reviewed do not separately confirm a physical shipping date, so check the retailer listing for your region. The collection is built from three existing packages, each covered below.

If you already own a cloud version
Square Enix says owners of the cloud versions can take advantage of the following on Switch 2:
- Save transfer: cloud-version save data may be transferred to the Switch 2 digital version.
- Discount: a 50% discount on the corresponding eligible digital version.
- INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE for Cloud owners: eligible for discounts on all digital versions.
- Physical editions: the physical Switch 2 collection is not eligible for the owner discount.
Confirm which digital title you own and read the regional eShop terms before buying, since eligibility depends on the exact product.

Which option fits your situation
- You own a cloud version on the original Switch: keep playing until June 9, 2027. If you want to move to Switch 2, check whether your save and discount eligibility applies to the digital edition you want.
- You are buying new on Switch 2: the digital KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] is the option with the clearest published details. Expect movie and cutscene-only entries alongside the playable games.
- You prefer a physical copy: the Square Enix-listed Switch 2 physical edition is the route, but it does not qualify for the cloud-owner discount.
- You only have the original Switch and no cloud purchase: there is no current official way to buy the series on that console.
Regional and date limits
The Nintendo product pages reviewed are US storefront pages, and the Square Enix page is the US English publisher page. Release timing, pricing, format availability, discounts, and cloud service status can differ by region, so verify them on your local eShop or retailer before purchase. Release and service dates above reflect the official information available when this article was prepared, and the Switch 2 date is a scheduled release date.
